The Department of Biotechnology (DBT), Government of India, oversees the non profit Biotechnology Industry Research Assistance Council, a Section 8, Schedule B, Public Sector enterprise. It serves as an interface agency, strengthening and enabling the nascent biotech industry to engage in strategic research and innovation, meeting needs for product development that are pertinent to the country. As an initiative of the Government of India, BIRAC aims to enhance its operations with professionalism, transparency, and efficiency, all the while offering assistance in accelerating the development of the nascent Indian bio-economy. Job Post: Young Professional under Regulatory Affairs & Policy Advocacy Unit of BIRAC

Position Code:

Consolidated Remuneration: Between Rs. 30,000/- to Rs. 50,000/- depending on qualifications & experience.

Number of Positions: 02

Essential Qualification:

Master’s in Life Sciences, Biotechnology, Medical Research, Regulatory Sciences, Management, Market Research, Research Analysis, Public Policy, or related fields.

Desirable Qualifications:

One-year post-qualification work experience with national and international regulatory bodies or relevant industry.
Proficiency in research paper/concept note preparation and data analysis using statistical tools.
Excellent writing and oral communication skills.

Experience: Up to 30 years as of the closing date of application.

Job Description: The Regulatory Affairs & Policy Advocacy (RAPA) division at BIRAC facilitates innovators in navigating regulatory approval pathways and advocates for policies impacting startups, SMEs, and young entrepreneurs. Young professionals under RAPA will be responsible for the following activities:

Job Tenure:

Initial appointment for six months, extendable based on satisfactory performance.

Key Responsibilities:

Support in organizing strategy meetings and stakeholders’ interactions.
Coordinate and support regulatory workshops and centers.
Facilitate the organization of FIRST HUB and regulatory expert meetings.
Create and maintain databases, conduct market research, and prepare white papers.
Assist in any other activity of RAPA and work with the team for timely task delivery.
