About the Organization

West Bengal State Health & Family Welfare Samiti invites applications for contractual engagement under the project “Strengthening of State Drug Regulatory Mechanism (Upgradation of Drugs Testing Laboratory)”. Selected candidates will be posted at the State Drug Control & Research Laboratory, Department of Health and Family Welfare, Government of West Bengal.

Position 1: Drug Analyst (Junior Scientific Assistant)

• Number of Vacancies: 10 (SC–2, ST–1, OBCA–1, OBCB–1, EWS–1, UR–4)

• Remuneration: ₹28,900 per month (consolidated)

• Age Limit (as on 01.01.2025): 23–40 years (relaxation as per government norms)

• Place of Posting: State Drug Control & Research Laboratory

Essential Qualification

• B.Sc. (Hons.) in Chemistry OR B.Pharm OR B.Tech (Pharmacy/Pharmaceutical Technology)

• Minimum 2 years’ experience in a registered institution for drug manufacturing/testing or enforcement under the Drugs & Cosmetics Act, 1940 (preferably in a government organization under Govt. Analyst/Chemical Examiner).

Desirable Qualification

• Master’s degree in Chemistry, M.Pharm, or M.Tech (Pharmacy/Pharmaceutical Technology).

Position 2: Support Staff (Laboratory Assistant)

• Number of Vacancies: 10 (SC–2, ST–1, OBC–1, OBCB–1, EWS–1, UR–4)

• Remuneration: ₹24,700 per month (consolidated)

• Age Limit (as on 01.01.2025): 23–40 years (relaxation as per government norms)

• Place of Posting: State Drug Control & Research Laboratory

Essential Qualification

• B.Sc. with Chemistry/Botany/Zoology as one subject OR B.Pharm from a recognized university.

• Minimum 1 year of experience as Testing/Lab Assistant in a registered institution or research laboratory related to Drugs & Cosmetics Act, 1940.

Selection Process

• Drug Analyst: Academic Qualification (50 marks), Higher Qualification (15 marks), Experience (20 marks), Interview (15 marks) → Total 100 marks.

• Laboratory Assistant: Academic Qualification (75 marks), Additional Experience (10 marks), Interview (15 marks) → Total 100 marks.

• Engagement is purely contractual for six months/one year, renewable based on performance and project continuation.
