West Baltimore households are advised by the city to boil their water after probable E. coli contamination

Mayor Brandon Scott said  At this time, we do not know the source of the contamination. But I can assure you that we are working actively to determine the exact extent of the issue 

One minute boiling the water before its use is advised by  Dr. Letitia Dzirasa, the city's health commissioner 

Department of Public Works Director Jason Mitchell said that the cause is still under investigation 

The precautionary Boil Water Advisory is directly affecting approximately 1,500 residential and commercial facilities
