Launched during the 12th Plan, NAM is designed for implementation through States\/UTs. The primary objective of NAM is to promote AYUSH medical systems by providing cost-effective AYUSH services, strengthening educational systems, facilitating quality control enforcement for Ayurveda, Siddha, Unani &amp; Homoeopathy (ASU &amp; H) drugs, and ensuring sustainable availability of ASU &amp; H raw materials. The scheme allows flexibility in program implementation, encouraging substantial participation from State Governments\/UTs.<\/span><\/p><div class=\"pharm-content\" id=\"pharm-126619658\"><script async src=\"\/\/pagead2.googlesyndication.com\/pagead\/js\/adsbygoogle.js?client=ca-pub-8402705006112223\" crossorigin=\"anonymous\"><\/script><ins class=\"adsbygoogle\" style=\"display:block;\" data-ad-client=\"ca-pub-8402705006112223\" \ndata-ad-slot=\"7652789694\" \ndata-ad-format=\"auto\"><\/ins>\n<script> \n(adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({}); \n<\/script>\n<\/div>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: revert; color: initial;\">The Union Cabinet approved the continuation of the Centrally Sponsored Scheme of NAM on 15.12.2017, extending from 01.04.2017 to 31.03.2020. NAM aims to enhance access to AYUSH services by increasing the number of AYUSH Hospitals and Dispensaries, ensuring the availability of AYUSH drugs and trained manpower. Additionally, it focuses on improving the quality of AYUSH education by upgrading educational institutions, sustaining the availability of quality raw materials, and enhancing the availability of Ayurveda, Siddha, Unani &amp; Homoeopathy (ASU &amp; H) drugs through the establishment of pharmacies and drug laboratories.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: revert; color: initial;\">In response to the evolving healthcare landscape, a shift from disease management to wellness promotion has occurred. A decision made on 30th Jan, 2019, stipulated the upgrading of at least 12,500 Health and Wellness Centres (HWCs) under Ayushman Bharat by the Ministry of AYUSH.
