Job Post: Drug Inspector (Class-II) – Department of Health Safety & Regulation, Govt. of Himachal Pradesh



Number of Posts: 03 (Category Wise)

Pay Scale: Rs. 10300-34800 + Rs. 4200 (G.P.)

Essential Qualifications:

  • Bachelor Degree in Pharmacy or Pharmaceutical Chemistry or a post-Graduate Degree in Chemistry with pharmaceutics as an essential subject from a recognized Indian University.
  • Associateship Diploma of the Institution of Chemists (India) with “Analysis of Drugs and Pharmaceuticals” as one of the subjects.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Science or Graduate in Medicine from a recognized University, with at least one year’s postgraduate training in a laboratory under specified authorities.

Desirable Qualification:

  • Knowledge of customs, manners, and dialects of Himachal Pradesh.
  • Suitability for appointment in the peculiar conditions prevailing in the Pradesh.


  1. The eligibility criteria, including essential qualifications, experience, etc., will be determined as of the closing date for submission of Online Recruitment Applications (ORA).
  2. Reserved category candidates appointed on merit and not owing to reservation will not be adjusted against reserved points.
  3. The decision of the Commission regarding eligibility for admission to the Personality Test or selection will be final.
  4. Onus of proving requisite degree/qualification by the stipulated date lies with the candidate.

  2. Male candidates of Other States: Rs. 400
  3. Male candidates of SC, ST, OBC, and EWS under UR-BPL categories of Himachal Pradesh: Rs. 100
  4. Ex-Servicemen of Himachal Pradesh, Blind, and Visually Impaired male candidates: No Fee (Female candidates are exempted from the examination fee)
