Panvel Municipal Council was formed on August 25, 1852, making it the first municipal council in the country. While the initial notification for converting Panvel Municipal Council to a Municipal Corporation was issued in 1991, it was not finalized at that time. However, due to rapid urbanization after 2000, Panvel Municipal Council was eventually upgraded to a Municipal Corporation in 2016.

Panvel Municipal Corporation holds several distinctions. It is the first Municipal Corporation in Raigad district, the ninth in the Mumbai Metropolitan Region, and the twenty-seventh in the state of Maharashtra. The Municipal Corporation encompasses 29 revenue villages of Panvel taluka, including the CIDCO colonies of Taloja, Kharghar, Kalamboli, Kamothe, and New Panvel. The total area covered by the Municipal Corporation is approximately 110 square kilometers.

  1. Educational Qualification: Candidates must have passed B.Pharm from a government recognized university.
  2. Registration Certificate: Valid registration certificate from the Maharashtra Pharmacy Council, in accordance with the Maharashtra Pharmacy Act 1948, is required.
  3. Work Experience: Minimum 2 years of work experience in the relevant discipline is required.
  4. Language Requirement: Knowledge of the Marathi language is necessary.
