The All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in Bhubaneswar is one of the apex healthcare institutes established by the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Government of India, under the Pradhan Mantri Swasthya Suraksha Yojna (PMSSY). The PMSSY was launched to upgrade healthcare facilities in underserved areas of the country and provide quality medical education in super-specialty disciplines.

In his Independence Day Speech on August 15, 2003, then Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee announced the opening of six AIIMS hospitals in Patna, Raipur, Bhopal, Bhubaneswar, Jodhpur, and Rishikesh under the PMSSY scheme. These new AIIMS institutions were intended to enhance healthcare services and medical education in various regions across India. The existing AIIMS in New Delhi has been a prestigious medical institution in India, and the establishment of these new AIIMS branches aimed to replicate its success and standard of healthcare in other parts of the country.

AIIMS Bhubaneswar has invited applications for Group ‘B’ and ‘C’ (Non-Faculty) vacancies. The details of the vacancies are as follows:

  1. Pharmacist Grade-II:
    • Number of Vacancies: 27
    • Reservation: SC-4, ST-5, OBC-3, EWS-2, UR-13, ESM-03
    • Age Limit: Between 21-27 years
    • Essential Qualifications: Diploma in Pharmacy from a recognized University/Institution.
    • Experience: Should be a registered Pharmacist under Pharmacy Act 1948.
    • Desirable: Experience in manufacture/storage/testing of transfusion fluids in a reputed hospital or industry.
  2. Pharma Chemist / Chemical Examiner:
    • Number of Vacancies: 01 (Unreserved – UR-01)
    • Age Limit: Between 18-27 Years
    • Essential Qualifications: Diploma in Pharmacy from a recognized University/Institution.
    • Experience: Should be a registered Pharmacist under Pharmacy Act 1948.
    • Desirable: Experience in manufacture/testing of transfusion fluids in a reputed hospital or industry.

  • Date of closing of online applications for Phase-I: 08.08.2023

Interested candidates who meet the eligibility criteria can apply online by the specified closing date. The qualifications required for both positions include a Diploma in Pharmacy from a recognized institution and registration as a Pharmacist under the Pharmacy Act 1948.
