Western Coalfields Limited (WCL) is a prominent subsidiary of Coal India Limited (CIL), operating under the administrative control of the Ministry of Coal. Established under the Companies Act, 1956, WCL is headquartered at Coal Estate, Civil Lines, Nagpur–440001. The company earned the “Miniratna” status on 15th March 2007 and has significantly contributed to national coal production, accounting for approximately 7.02% during 2015-16.

- Minimum Qualification & Eligibility: Matriculate / Diploma in Pharmacy and registered with Pharmacy Council under Pharmacy Act 1948 with valid registration.

Selection Process
The selection for the post of Pharmacist (Trainee) will be based on an objective type Aptitude Test. The specifics of the test are as follows:
- Aptitude Test:
- Duration: 90 minutes
- Number of Questions: 100
- Maximum Marks: 100
- Minimum Pass Marks:
- General: 50 Marks
- SC/ST: 40 Marks (10% relaxation)
- Empanelment Criteria:
- The candidates will be ranked based on the marks obtained in the Aptitude Test.
- In the event of a tie, the candidate with the earlier date of appointment will be given preference.
- If the tie persists, the older candidate (based on Date of Birth) will be given priority.
- Candidates who are newly appointed as dependents/PAP and have not completed their six-month training period as of the notification date will not be eligible.
- Reservation norms for SC/ST and PWD candidates will be adhered to as per rules.
Instructions for Filling Applications
- Eligibility Check: Candidates must carefully read the notification and ensure they meet the eligibility criteria before applying.
- Application Submission: Applications should be in the prescribed proforma (enclosed) and must include a recent photograph attested by the controlling officer/unit-in-charge, along with self-attested educational and statutory certificates.
- Verification: The controlling officer/unit-in-charge must verify the correctness of the application details, countersign with a seal, and ensure that the Annual Performance Ratings and Departmental Clearance Certificate are duly certified before forwarding the application to the Area Personnel Manager (APM).
- Submission by APM: The APM should forward only the applications of eligible candidates with a minimum “Good” performance rating to GM(P/IR) for consideration. WCL HQ candidates’ applications should be sent to Dy. GM (P/IR).
- Data Submission: The candidate data in excel format (as per enclosed proforma) should also be emailed to gmir1.wcl@coalindia.in.
- Application Format: Applications must be submitted in the prescribed format. Applications received directly from candidates will not be accepted.

- Cut-off Date: The eligibility cut-off date will be the date of the internal notification.
