About the Commission

The Goa Public Service Commission (GPSC), constituted under the Constitution of India, plays a pivotal role in guiding the Government of Goa on all matters related to State Civil Services as per Article 320 (3). The Commission ensures transparency and merit-based recruitment for critical posts across government departments through direct recruitment and promotion processes.

Position Overview

• Post: Head of Testing Unit

• Number of Vacancies: 01 (Unreserved)

• Pay Scale: As per Pay Matrix Level-11

• Age Limit: Not exceeding 45 years

Essential Qualifications

Applicants must possess the following minimum qualifications:

1. Educational Qualification (any one of the following):

   • Post Graduate Degree in Medicine (MD in Microbiology/Pathology/Biochemistry) from a recognized university/institution.

   • OR Post Graduate Degree in Pharmacy or Science (Chemistry/Microbiology/Biochemistry) from a recognized university/institution.

2. Experience: At least 18 months of practical experience in:

   • Testing of blood and blood products (e.g., Chemiluminescence/ELISA).

   • Testing of blood samples for HIV, HBV, HCV, and testing for Syphilis and Malaria.

3. Language Requirement: Knowledge of Konkani.

Desirable: Knowledge of Marathi will be an added advantage.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee the testing operations for blood and blood products.

• Ensure compliance with quality and safety protocols.

• Provide technical guidance for advanced diagnostic testing.

• Maintain accurate documentation and reporting of results.

Important Notes

• The prescribed essential qualifications are minimum requirements. Possession of these does not automatically entitle a candidate to be called for an interview.

• If suitable candidates with Konkani knowledge are unavailable, relaxation may be granted for Group ‘A’ posts based on the Commission’s recommendation.

• Shortlisting will be done if the number of applications received is large, as detailed in the “Instructions” on the GPSC website.

   • Offline: Generate an e-challan and make cash payment at any SBI Branch in Goa within the validity period. Ensure the e-challan carries the Bank Stamp and submit it to the Commission’s office before the deadline.

3. Only after successful fee payment can candidates download and submit the application form.

4. Provide a valid email address and mobile number for all communications regarding the application process.
