University Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Panjab University is a premier institute of pharmaceutical education and research assigned NIRF Rank 2 in the country. The institute set up in the pre-independent India, at Lahore, in 1944 has a prestigious and long history. Pharmacy Council of India (PCI) approved B. Pharmacy (4 year) program and M. 2. National Institute of Pharmaceutical Education and Research Hyderabad 

NIPER Hyderabad

National Institute of Pharmaceutical Education and Research Hyderabad is a public institution established in the year 2007. The institute offers Masters and Ph.D. programs in Pharmaceutical education. The courses offered by NIPER Hyderabad are M.S., M.Tech., MBA, and Ph.D. In 2019, NIPER Hyderabad has been ranked 6th rank in pharmacy category by NIRF out of all the Pharmacy Institutions from all over India.

The M.S. and Ph.D programs both have five specializations. For admission to Master’s Programs, students are required to have a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant subject and for admission to Ph.D. programs, a Master’s degree with a valid score is required. Admissions to all courses will be based on the score obtained by the students in NIPER JEE examination. The institute also conducts counseling and personal interviews. Applications can be processed online. 

National Institute of Pharmaceutical Education and Research (NIPER), Hyderabad is an “Institute of National Importance” with proclaimed objectives of becoming Centre of Excellence for advanced research in pharmaceutical sciences. NIPER-Mohali was the first institute established in the year 1998 under the aegis of Department of Pharmaceuticals, Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilizers, the Govt. of India. Later, the DOP established 6 new NIPERs across the country including NIPER-Hyderabad which started functioning from 19th October 2007, from the premises of erstwhile R&D Centre of IDPL, Balanagar, Hyderabad.

The main objective of the institute is to offer the following programs.
M.S. (Pharm.), M.Tech. (Pharm.), M.B.A (Pharm.), and Ph.D.

The institute started with M.S(Pharm) in 3 disciplines viz Medicinal Chemistry, Pharmacology & Toxicology and Pharmaceutical Analysis in the year 2007. Subsequently 4 new courses were added-pharmaceutics (2009), M.B.A (Pharm.) (2011), Regulatory Toxicology and M.Tech.-Process Chemistry (2013).

The Ph.D. programme in this institute commenced in academic year 2011-12 in 4 disciplines (Medicinal Chemistry, Pharmacology & Toxicology, Pharmaceutical Analysis, and Pharmaceutics).

NIPER Hyderabad has excellent lab facilities to update the knowledge and expose the students to various advanced techniques essential for Drug Discovery Research. NIPER Hyderabad conducts several national and international seminars and workshops at regular intervals. 3. National Institute of Pharmaceutical Education and Research (NIPER)

NIPER Mohali

As a centre of excellence for higher education, research, and development in pharmaceutical sciences, the National Institute of Pharmaceutical Education and Research (NIPER), Mohali, was founded in 1998 as an autonomous college under the auspices of the Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilizer. The Pharmacy Council of India (PCI) has given the college full recognition, and the Indian government designated it as an Institute of National Importance by a parliamentary act. The Association of Indian Universities and the Association of Commonwealth Universities both recognise NIPER, Mohali as a member.

The institute provides MBA (Pharm), M.S. (Pharm), M.Pharm, M.Tech (Pharm), and Ph.D. programmes in a number of pharmaceutical sciences fields.

The college offers a number of Postgraduate programmes, including M.S. (Pharm. ), M. Pharm., M. Tech. 4. Institute of Chemical Technology (ICT)

ICT Mumbai

A premier (deemed) university dedicated to education, training, research, and industrial collaboration in chemical engineering, chemical technology, applied chemistry, pharmacy, biotechnology, and biology, the Institute was founded on October 1, 1933 as the University Department of Chemical Technology (commonly known as UDCT) of the University of Bombay (now Mumbai), with the noble intention of expanding India’s knowledge reserves in chemical science and technology.

The University of Mumbai awarded partial autonomy to the then-UDCT in 1985 as a result of the institution’s increasing stature over the years and its advancement to the next level under the autonomy concept promoted by the University Grants Commission (UGC). It was transformed on January 26th into University Institute of Chemical Technology (UICT) due to its size and range of activities.

ICT celebrated another beautiful day on May 4, 2018, when it formally opened a campus outside of Mumbai. Among other guests, Shri. Devendra Fadnavis, the Chief Minister of Maharashtra, laid the cornerstone for the Marathwada Off-Campus Center of ICT. The Institute has been given 203 acres of property at Siraswadi, close to Jalna.

Technologies for dehydrating vegetables have been commercialised in order to generate healthy drinking veggies at a rate of 10 tonnes of fresh vegetables per month. It has been marketed to process food in retorts to create ready-to-eat traditional Indian curries, etc., at a rate of 6–8 tonnes per month. The aforementioned technologies have led to the creation of startups.

In line with India’s aspirations to be a welfare state, our endeavors, which go far beyond the walls of the classroom, will aim to improve public welfare, and our efforts to disseminate knowledge will expand to a greater multi- and cross-disciplinary platform to conduct research, discovery, technology development, service to industry, and entrepreneurship.

Mumbai ICT Facilities
The college offers students a wealth of resources to aid in their development both professionally and personally. Among the facilities are:

  • Hostels- The institute provides separate hostels for boys and girls. There are 3 boys’ hostels and 2 girls’ hostels which can accommodate more than 850 students.
  • Sports Complex- It has a sports complex which has a badminton court, tennis court, basketball court, and futsal court.

5. BITS Pilani

BITS Pilani

BITS Pilani is a private, deemed institution of higher learning and engineering research. The university is one of the first six institutions to get the title “Institute of Eminence.” In the top 200 institutions in Asia according to the QS Asia University Rankings 2022, BITS Pilani is the sole private institution from India. There are campuses for Birla Institute of Technology in Pilani, Goa, Hyderabad, Dubai, and Mumbai.

The institute has established BITS Pilani in Dubai, making it the first institution to be recognised abroad. The university offers 15 academic departments in the fields of science, engineering, management, and research in addition to the five established sites. The institute also houses 9 distinct centres for women’s studies, robotics, software development, and desert development technologies.

BITS Pilani features a three tier academic system, consisting of First Degrees, Master’s Degrees, and Doctoral Degrees, similar to other universities. The institution provides more than 35 courses through these degrees, including BE/BTech, BPharm, MTech, MPharm, MBA, MSc, and PhD. For entry into these programmes, BITS Pilani administers its own test. The designated university administers the BITSAT exam for undergraduate programmes and the BITS HD exam for graduate degrees. The BTech degree is the main course of study at BITS Pilani. The BITSAT entrance exam is used to determine applicants for the programme.

BITS Pilani Courses

BITS Pilani offers first degrees, higher degrees, doctoral and off-campus programs. These courses are offered across the core areas of engineering, technology, management, sciences, pharmacy, humanities, and social sciences. At the UG level, BITS Pilani offers BE/BTech, BPharm, and other integrated programs. While courses such as MTech, MBA, MSc, MPharm, and Ph.D. are offered at the postgraduate and doctoral level respectively.
