National Forensic Sciences University: A Pioneering Institution in Forensic Science Education

The National Forensic Sciences University (NFSU), formerly known as Gujarat Forensic Sciences University, was established by the Government of Gujarat in 2009. The initiative was spearheaded by the then Chief Minister of Gujarat and current Prime Minister of India, Shri Narendra Modi, with the vision of creating a cadre of professional experts in forensic sciences. This institution addresses the rising complexity of crimes involving advanced technologies, emphasizing the need for specialized scientists and technocrats in forensic investigation.

Invitation for Academic Staff Applications

NFSU, an Institution of National Importance located in Gandhinagar, Gujarat, is inviting applications for various academic staff positions on a contractual basis. The university seeks exceptionally motivated candidates passionate about research and teaching in the following fields within the School of Pharmacy:

• Forensic Pharmacy
• Pharmaceuticals & Quality Assurance
• Environmental Forensics
• Pharmacology
• Novel Drug Delivery Systems

Available Positions

• Forensic/Pharmaceutical Chemistry: 01 post
• Biotechnology/Environmental Forensics: 02 posts
• Pharmacology: 01 post
• Novel Drug Delivery System/Regulatory Affairs: 01 post

Essential Qualifications

1. Pharmacology:
   • Ph.D. in relevant discipline with first class or equivalent (minimum 60% or equivalent) at the preceding degree (Master’s Degree in Pharmacy/Forensic Pharmacy with specialization in Pharmacology or related fields). Registration as a Pharmacist under the Pharmacy Act is mandatory.
2. Novel Drug Delivery System/Regulatory Affairs:
   • Ph.D. in relevant discipline with first class or equivalent (minimum 60% or equivalent) at the preceding degree (Master’s Degree in Pharmacy/Forensic Pharmacy with specialization in Pharmaceutics, Industrial Pharmacy, Novel Drug Delivery Systems, Pharmaceutical Technology, or Regulatory Affairs). Registration as a Pharmacist under the Pharmacy Act is mandatory.
3. Forensic Chemistry/Pharmaceutical Chemistry:
   • Ph.D. in relevant discipline with first class or equivalent (minimum 60% or equivalent) at the preceding degree (Master’s Degree in Pharmacy, Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Chemistry, Applied Chemistry, or related fields).
4. Environmental Forensics/Biotechnology:
   • Ph.D. in relevant discipline with first class or equivalent (minimum 60% or equivalent) at the preceding degree (Master’s Degree in Environmental Science, Life Sciences, Biology, Biotechnology, Chemistry, or related fields with Environmental Science as one of the subjects at the Master’s level).

Desirable Experience

• Experience in the respective fields of Pharmacy, Forensic Pharmacy, Analytical Chemistry, Environmental Forensics, or Forensic Science.

Remuneration

• Assistant Professor (Regular): Rs. 90,000/- per month
• Assistant Professor (Lower Remuneration): Rs. 75,000/- per month
• Lecturer: Rs. 68,000/- per month

Application and Selection Process

1. Application Deadline: Candidates must submit their online applications by 6:00 PM on July 7, 2024.
2. Interview Schedule: Tentative dates for interviews are from July 31 to August 7, 2024.
3. Notification: Shortlisted candidates will be notified via email and the university’s website regarding the interview schedule on July 12, 2024.

• The university may conduct a screening test if the number of applications is high.
• Contractual appointments are for eleven months or until a regular appointment is made.
