About Himachal Pradesh Public Service Commission

Himachal Pradesh achieved statehood on January 25, 1971. Prior to this, the responsibilities of the Public Service Commission for civil services and posts related to the affairs of the Union Territory of Himachal Pradesh were handled by the Union Public Service Commission as per Article 315 of the Constitution of India. It was necessary for the newly formed state to have its own Public Service Commission. However, since the establishment of a State Public Service Commission could only occur simultaneously with the attainment of statehood, the Union Public Service Commission, upon request from the Governor of Himachal Pradesh and with the approval of the President of India, agreed to fulfill the state’s needs until the establishment of a dedicated Public Service Commission or for a maximum period of three months from January 25, 1971, whichever came earlier.

Pay Scale: Pay Band Level – 8 (Rs. 29700 – 94100)

Essential Qualifications:

Plus two from a recognized Board of School Education.
Successful training of at least two years duration in Ayurvedic Pharmacist / Diploma in Pharmacy (Ayurveda) / Bachelor Degree in Pharmacy (Ayurveda) from an Institution duly recognized by the Himachal Pradesh Takniki Shiksha Board/University recognized by the Himachal Pradesh Government.

Desirable Qualification:

Knowledge of customs, manners, and dialects of Himachal Pradesh and suitability for appointment in the peculiar conditions prevailing in the state.

Eligibility Conditions:

The date of determining eligibility is as of the closing date for submission of Online Recruitment Applications through ORA portal.
Reserved category candidates falling under vertical reservation will not be adjusted against reserved points if appointed on their own merit. Horizontal reservation candidates will not be selected for general/unreserved posts.
For posts based on experience, candidates must have the required experience after acquiring the essential educational qualification(s).
The decision of the Commission regarding eligibility will be final.

Age:

Between 18 to 45 years as of 01-01-2024. Age relaxation applicable as per government norms.
