About ECHS

ECHS stands for the Ex-Servicemen Contributory Health Scheme. It is a healthcare scheme in India that provides medical facilities to retired armed forces personnel and their dependents. The scheme was established to address the healthcare needs of ex-servicemen and their families by offering a comprehensive range of medical services.

Under ECHS, eligible individuals can avail of medical services at empaneled hospitals and clinics across the country. The scheme is contributory in nature, meaning that beneficiaries contribute a nominal amount to avail of the health services. The goal of ECHS is to ensure that ex-servicemen and their dependents have access to quality healthcare services at an affordable cost.

The scheme covers a wide range of medical services, including outpatient and inpatient care, diagnostic services, and medicines. It aims to provide comprehensive healthcare support to the retired armed forces personnel, including those who have taken premature retirement.

Job Description:

The Ex-Servicemen Contributory Health Scheme (ECHS) is inviting applications for the position of Pharmacist to be engaged on a contractual basis in 08 ECHS Polyclinics located in Delhi Cantt, Shakurbasti, Sohna Road, Dundahera, Lodhi Road, Timarpur, Noida & Greater Noida. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to the healthcare of ex-servicemen and their dependents.

Position Details:

Number of Posts: 16
Qualification & Experience Required at ECHS:
- B.Pharmacy from a recognized Institute or
- 10+2 with Science stream (Physics, Chemistry, Biology) from a recognized Board, and
- Approved Diploma in Pharmacy from an Institute recognized by the Pharmacy Council of India, registered as Pharmacist under the Pharmacy Act 1948.
Fixed Remuneration: Rs. 28,100/-
Age Limit at ECHS:
- For Employment: 53
- For Contractual: 58* (*Age of contractual employees amended vide GoI, MoD letter No 22(72)/2017/WE/ID (Res-I) dt 18 Dec 17).
Reservation For Ex-Servicemen: 70%

Interested candidates meeting the Qualitative Requirements are invited to apply. The last date for receipt of applications is 05 January 2024. Applications, as per the prescribed format available on the website, along with self-attested photocopies of testimonials, should be submitted to QIC, Stn IIQ (ECHS Cell), Delhi Cantt. – 110010.

Interview Details at ECHS:

The interview date, timing, and venue will be communicated to candidates through email and telephone. Candidates are required to bring all original certificates, mark sheets, degrees, work experience documents, discharge book, PPO, service records, and 02 passport-size photographs at the time of the interview. No TA/DA is admissible.

General Instructions:

Age: Employment age should be as mentioned.
Contractual Terms & Conditions: Detailed terms and conditions for employment are available with ECHS Cell, Station Headquarter, Delhi Cantt- 110010.
Working Hours: 48 hours per week (8×6) for staff (except Ser 1 to 2); 30 hours per week (5×6) for specialists (Medical Specialist & Gynecologist).
Leave: Admissible 2.5 days for every completed month.
Termination of Services: Contract can be terminated by either side with one month’s notice.
