GPSC is a constitutional body created by the Constitution of India. It is responsible for advising the Government of Goa on various matters related to the state civil services.
Post : Pharmaceutical Chemist
- Number of Posts: There are 2 posts available for the position of Pharmaceutical Chemist, and these posts are unreserved.
- Scale of Pay: The selected candidates will be offered a scale of pay in the range of Rs. 9,300-34,800 with a grade pay of Rs. 4,600. Please note that the pay scale mentioned is the pre-revised scale, and the revised pay matrix level is level 7.
- Age Limit: The maximum age limit for applicants is 45 years. Candidates should not exceed this age limit as of the last date of application.
- Educational & Other Qualifications:
- Essential:
- Candidates must have a Graduate degree in Pharmacy.
- Applicants should be registered as a Pharmacist under the Pharmacy Act, 1948.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience is required, which can be fulfilled by meeting any of the following criteria: a) Experience in a Hospital Pharmacy or Government Medical Store involving planning drug requirements, monitoring drug distribution/consumption, manufacturing stock solutions, and galenical preparations. b) Experience in a pharmaceutical industry engaged in drug manufacturing and testing. c) Experience in a recognized testing laboratory under the Drugs Cosmetics Act, 1940, involved in drug testing. d) Experience in a drugs controller office dealing with problems related to drug standards.
- Knowledge of Konkani is essential.
- Desirable:
- Knowledge of Marathi is preferred.
- Age Relaxation:
- SC/ST Candidates: The upper age limit is relaxable by up to 5 years.
- OBC Candidates: The upper age limit is relaxable by up to 3 years.
- Blind, Deaf-Mute, and Orthopedically Handicapped Candidates: The upper age limit is relaxable by up to 5 years. (For SC/ST candidates, the total age relaxation is up to 10 years, and for OBC candidates, it is up to 8 years in respect of posts reserved for them.)
- CFF Candidates: The upper age limit is relaxable by up to 5 years.
- Government Servants: Age relaxation of up to 5 years is applicable as per the instructions issued by the Government from time to time.
- Eligibility Criteria:
- Candidates are responsible for ensuring their eligibility for the applied post.
- The Goa Public Service Commission (GPSC) will consider applications with the requisite fee and assess the candidates’ eligibility based on the information provided in the online application.
- The final determination of eligibility will be made by the Commission at the time of the interview after verifying all the original documents.
- Application Fee:
- General Category Candidates: The application fee for General category candidates is Rs. 1000/-
- SC, ST, OBC (Caste Certificate issued from the State of Goa only): The application fee for SC, ST, and OBC candidates is Rs. 500/-
- PH and EX-Servicemen: The application fee for PH (Physically Handicapped) and EX-Servicemen candidates is Rs. 500/-
- Application Form: a) To apply for the post, the applicant should visit the official website of the Goa Public Service Commission (GPSC) at gpsc.goa.gov.in or the Computer Based Examination Portal at cbes.goa.gov.in. The applicant needs to register on the website and note down the computer-generated User ID and Password for future reference. b) Before filling the application form, the applicant should scan their self-passport size photograph and signature as per the prescribed specifications. c) If the candidate is applying for more than one post, a separate application should be submitted for each post. d) The Goa Public Service Commission only accepts online applications. No other mode of application submission will be accepted.
- Filling up of the Application Form:
- a) All questions/items in the application form should be answered/filled based on the options provided. Leaving any item/question blank or providing incorrect information may result in the rejection of the candidate’s candidature.
- b) In the Educational Qualifications section, candidates should clearly mention the percentage (%) of marks obtained in the respective examination. If the grading system is used (CGPA/GPA/SGPA, etc.), the percentage of marks should be calculated according to the AICTE/UGC approved table of equivalence provided.
- c) Candidates should possess all the certificates of their Educational Qualifications, Experience, etc., in their original form on the date of application. The validity of the Caste Certificate should also be ensured at the time of application.
- d) The printed copy of the application form is not required to be sent to the Commission.
- e) Candidates are advised to apply online well before the closing date and not wait until the last date to avoid any technical issues or heavy internet traffic that may prevent successful submission of the application.
- f) The Goa Public Service Commission does not hold responsibility for candidates not being able to submit their applications due to reasons beyond the control of the Commission.
- g) Candidates must ensure that they have filled in all the necessary details related to their qualifications and experience as per the requirements of the post. For teaching posts in higher education, candidates must enter their NET/SET (if applicable) along with other essential qualifications. No additional information will be accepted in hard form once the application is submitted.
- h) Candidates facing difficulties in the submission of the online application or payment of application fees can contact the provided mobile number during office hours.
- i) Phone calls to the Commission’s office phone number will not be entertained.
