Position Details

Job Title: Junior Pharmacist (Class-3)
Number of Posts: 10
Salary Structure:

• Fixed monthly salary of Rs. 40,800/- for the first five years
• Upon satisfactory service, eligible for regular appointment under Seventh Pay Commission Pay Scale: Rs. 29,200 – Rs. 92,300 (Level-5)
• Subject to the Supreme Court’s judgment in SLP No. 14124/2012 and SLP No. 14125/2012

Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualifications:

Candidates must possess either of the following:

1. Bachelor’s Degree in Pharmacy (B.Pharm) or Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) from a recognized university under the UGC Act, 1956.
2. Diploma in Pharmacy (D.Pharm) with two years of experience as:
   • Junior Pharmacist in Government/Government Undertaking/Board
   • Dispenser in hospitals/dispensaries
   • Pharmacist/Medical Representative in a pharmaceutical company under the Companies Act, 2013
3. Basic knowledge of computer applications as per Gujarat Civil Services Recruitment Rules, 1967.
4. Proficiency in Gujarati or Hindi (or both).

Nationality Requirement:

• Indian Citizen
• As per Rule-7 of the Gujarat Civil Services Classification and Recruitment (General) Rules, 1967

Age Limit:

• Minimum: 18 years
• Maximum: 35 years (as on 25/04/2025)
• Relaxation for government employees as per Gujarat Civil Services Rules

Computer Knowledge Requirement

Candidates must possess a valid computer knowledge certificate from a recognized training institute or university. Acceptable qualifications include:

• Certification under State Government’s General Administration Department (Resolution No.: CRR/102007/120320/G.5 dated 13/08/2008)
• Degree/diploma with computer as a subject
• 10th/12th standard with computer as a subject
• Candidates without certification must submit proof before appointment
