he Kerala Public Service Commission (KPSC) is indeed a constitutional body created by the Constitution of India. It is responsible for advising the Government of Karnataka on various matters related to civil services, as specified under Article 320 (3) of the Constitution.
The primary functions of the KPSC include publishing notifications to invite applications for selection to various posts based on the requisitions received from the appointing authorities. The commission conducts written tests, practical tests, physical efficiency tests, and interviews as part of the selection process. After evaluating the performance of the candidates, the KPSC prepares a ranked list and advises candidates for appointment based on their merit.
Post : Drug Inspector
Number of Posts: There are three anticipated vacancies for the position of Drug Inspector.
Scale of Pay: The selected candidates will be eligible for a salary in the range of Rs. 55,200 to Rs. 1,15,300 per month.
Qualifications: The minimum educational qualification required for the post is a degree in Pharmacy from a recognized university. In previous selection processes for this post, candidates with an MPharm (Pharmacy) degree or equivalent/higher qualifications have also been accepted.
Age Limit: The age limit for candidates applying for the Drug Inspector position is between 21 and 36 years. Only candidates born between 02.01.1987 and 01.01.2002 (both dates included) are eligible to apply. However, candidates belonging to Other Backward Communities (OBC) and Scheduled Castes/Scheduled Tribes (SC/ST) categories may be eligible for age relaxation as per the usual rules.
Note :
- Equivalent/Higher Qualifications: Rule 10(a)(ii) of Part II KS & SSR is applicable, which means that qualifications recognized by executive orders or standing orders of the government as equivalent to the specified qualifications for the post, as mentioned in the Special Rules, will be considered sufficient. Candidates must provide copies of the government orders declaring equivalent/higher qualifications when required by the Commission.
- Training Period: Persons appointed as Drug Inspectors will undergo training for six months starting from their date of joining the service.
- Probation: For candidates appointed through direct recruitment, probation will commence after successful completion of the training period.
- Account Test: During the probation period, every appointed Drug Inspector must pass the Account Test (Lower) or Account Test for Executive Officers if they have not already done so.
Mode of Submitting Application:
- Candidates must complete the “ONE TIME REGISTRATION” process on the Kerala Public Service Commission’s official website (keralapsc.gov.in) before applying for the post.
- After registering, candidates can log in to their profile using their User-ID and password to apply for the post.
- Candidates should click on the “Apply Now” button in the Notification Link for the respective post.
- The uploaded photograph should be taken after 31.12.2013. For candidates who created a new profile from 01.01.2022, the photograph should be taken within the last 6 months.
- The photograph should have the candidate’s name and the date it was taken printed legibly at the bottom portion.
- The uploaded photograph will be valid for 10 years from the date of uploading.
- No application fee is required.
- Candidates are responsible for the accuracy of their personal information and the confidentiality of their password.
- Before the final submission of the application, candidates must ensure the correctness of the information in their profile and quote their User-ID for further communication with the Commission.
- Once submitted, the application cannot be deleted or altered.
- Candidates are advised to keep a printout or soft copy of the online application for future reference.
- All correspondence with the Commission regarding the application should be accompanied by the printout of the application.
- Non-compliance with the notification may result in the application being summarily rejected.
- Original documents to prove qualifications, experience, age, community, etc., must be produced when called for.
- Profile corrections made after the last date for application receipt will not be reflected in the application.
Additional instructions:
- If a Written/OMR/Online Test is part of the selection process, candidates must confirm their participation through their One Time Registration profile. Only candidates who submit confirmation within the specified period will be able to generate and download the Admission Tickets.
- Candidates who possess an Aadhaar Card should add Aadhaar as ID Proof in their profile.Special instructions :
(a) Caste/Community Discrepancy: If there is a difference between the caste/community mentioned in the application and the caste/community mentioned in the SSLC book (10th-grade certificate), candidates must provide a Gazette Notification supporting the claimed caste/community. Along with this, candidates need to submit a Non Creamy Layer Certificate/Community Certificate during the certificate verification process.
(b) General Conditions: Candidates are advised to carefully read and understand the instructions given in the notification’s Part II, General Conditions section before submitting their applications. Applications that do not adhere to the terms and conditions specified in the General Conditions are subject to rejection.
(c) Bogus Claims and Disciplinary Action: Candidates should refrain from making false claims regarding their qualifications, education, experience, etc. Any candidate found to have submitted an application with bogus claims is liable for appropriate disciplinary action as per Rule 22 of the Kerala Public Service Commission Rules of Procedure. This may result in disqualification for the post, debarment from future applications to the Commission, invalidation of answer scripts or products in written/practical tests, initiation of criminal or other legal proceedings, removal or dismissal from office if already appointed, or any other disciplinary action deemed necessary.
Important Date: The last date for receipt of applications is 19.07.2023 (Wednesday) until 12 Midnight.
