The National Pharmaceutical Pricing Authority (NPPA), established by the Government of India on August 29, 1997, is an attached office of the Department of Pharmaceuticals (DoP), under the Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilizers. It functions as an independent regulator for drug pricing to ensure the availability and accessibility of medicines at affordable prices.

Job Opportunities at NPPA

NPPA invites applications for various contractual positions including Senior Consultants, Consultants, and Young Professionals. Details of the positions, qualifications, experience, and other criteria are as follows:

Senior Consultant (Pharma) – 02 Posts

Essential Qualification:

  • Master’s Degree in Pharmacy from a recognized university (national or foreign).

Experience:

  • Minimum 4 years post-qualification experience in Pharma Regulatory Affairs, Pharma Pricing, Pharma Production, Pharma Data Analysis, or Drug Delivery and Research.

Skills:

  • Proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel.
  • Good communication and analytical skills.

Age Limit:

  • Maximum 40 years.

Remuneration:

  • Rs. 80,000 per month.

Consultant (Pharma) – 04 Posts

Essential Qualification:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Pharmacy from a recognized university (national or foreign). Preference will be given to candidates with a Master’s degree.

Experience:

  • Minimum 2 years post-qualification experience in relevant fields.

Skills:

  • Proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel.
  • Good communication and analytical skills.

Age Limit:

  • Maximum 35 years.

Remuneration:

  • Rs. 65,000 per month.

Consultant (Medical Device) – 02 Posts

Essential Qualification:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Instrumentation, Clinical, Biomedical Engineering, or Biotechnology from a recognized institute/university (national or foreign). Postgraduate qualifications in related fields are desirable.

Experience:

  • Minimum 2 years experience in Medical Devices Manufacturing, Regulatory Affairs, Research, or Testing Laboratory.

Skills:

  • Proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel.
  • Good communication and analytical skills.

Age Limit:

  • Maximum 35 years.

Remuneration:

  • Rs. 65,000 per month.

Young Professional (Pharma) – 06 Posts

Essential Qualification:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Pharmacy from a recognized university (national or foreign).

Experience:

  • Preference for candidates with experience in the pharmaceutical sector.

Skills:

  • Proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel.
  • Good communication and analytical skills.

Age Limit:

  • Maximum 32 years.

Remuneration:

  • Rs. 50,000 per month.

Young Professional (Medical Device) – 02 Posts

Essential Qualification:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Biomedical Engineering, Electronics, Instrumentation, or Biotechnology from a recognized institute/university (national or foreign).

Experience:

  • Preference for candidates with experience in the Medical Device or Pharmaceutical sector.

Skills:

  • Proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel.
  • Good communication and analytical skills.

Age Limit:

  • Maximum 32 years.

Remuneration:

  • Rs. 50,000 per month.

General Terms and Conditions

  • Contract Duration: Initially for one year, extendable up to three years based on performance and requirements.
  • Legal Status: Consultants and Young Professionals will be considered independent contractors, not NPPA employees.
  • Travel Allowance: Eligible for TA/DA reimbursement at par with the Under Secretary to the Government of India for approved domestic tours.
  • Leave: Entitled to 12 days leave per year on a pro-rata basis.
  • Standards of Conduct: Expected to adhere to office etiquettes and comply with NPPA regulations.
  • Confidentiality: Bound by the Indian Official Secrets Act, 1923, regarding the confidentiality of information.
  • Police Verification: Mandatory as per the Ministry of Home Affairs guidelines.
  • Tax Deduction: Applicable taxes will be deducted at source.
