About Central Medical Services Society
Central Medical Services Society (CMSS) is a significant initiative established by the Indian government to improve the procurement and distribution system of healthcare goods and services. CMSS was established on August 24, 2011, with the approval of the Cabinet.
The primary objective of CMSS is to streamline the procurement and distribution of healthcare goods and services under the Department of Health and Family Welfare, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India. It aims to address existing deficiencies in the system. CMSS serves as a Central Procurement Agency, responsible for procuring various health sector goods. This centralization helps in achieving efficiency, transparency, and cost-effectiveness in procurement processes.
CMSS is committed to procuring high-quality health sector goods in a transparent manner, aligning its operations with the directives of the Government of India.

Job Vacancies and Locations

- Locations: Delhi, Ahmedabad (Gujarat), Bhubaneswar (Odisha), Kolkata (West Bengal), Ranchi (Jharkhand)
- Vacancies may vary, and new positions may arise at these 13 locations: Agartala (Tripura), Bangalore (Karnataka), Bhopal (M.P.), Zirakpur (Punjab), Chennai (T.N.), Guwahati (Assam), Hyderabad (Telangana), Jaipur (Rajasthan), Lucknow (U.P.), Mumbai (Maharashtra), Patna (Bihar), Raipur (Chhattisgarh), & Trivandrum (Kerala).
Emoluments and Recruitment
- Emoluments: Rs. 50,000/-
- Mode of Recruitment: On Contract
- Tenure of Post: Yearly contract basis, initially for 5 years (Renewable annually, subject to performance)
- Age Limit: Below 45 Years (as of the last application date)
Educational Qualifications and Experience
- Educational Qualification: B.Pharma degree from a recognized University/Institute, recognized by the Pharmacy Council of India.
- Experience:
- Approved/Registered Pharmacist under the Pharmacy Act, 1948.
- Minimum 4 years of post-qualification experience, including at least 2 years in Central Govt./State Govt./PSU/Autonomous Body/Pharmaceutical MNCs/Hospital of 100 beds in pharmaceutical store/warehouse functions.
- Experience in drugs storage and distribution.
- Exposure to handling regulatory audits on store/warehouse/distribution functions of Pharmaceutical.
- Desirable: Exposure to ERP, GFR, and E-procurement systems.
Probation Period and Performance Review
- Probation Period: 6 Months
- Period of Appointment: Reviewed annually by DG & CEO, renewable based on satisfactory performance
- Termination: One-month notice by either side or one-month salary in lieu of notice by CMSS (at its discretion).
Job Responsibilities
- Orderly warehousing of various product categories.
- Implementation of Good Storage Practices.
- Compliance with statutory requirements and record maintenance.
- Ensure recommended environmental conditions, housekeeping, and sampling.
- Traceability of distributed products batch-wise.
- Authorized movement control.
- Staff training on SOP.
- Investigation of complaints.
- Adherence to financial, operational, and statutory compliances.
- Coordination between state nodal officer, program division, and head office.
- Records maintenance.
- Legal operation of the warehouse.
