Website National Institute of Animal Biotechnology (NIAB)
The National Institute of Animal Biotechnology (NIAB) is indeed an autonomous and premier institute under the Department of Biotechnology, Ministry of Science & Technology, Government of India. It was established in 2010 with the aim to develop and apply novel and emerging biotechnological tools to improve animal health and productivity.
NIAB is dedicated to research in cutting-edge areas of animal biotechnology, including genetics and genomics, reproductive biotechnology, infectious diseases, and stem cell research. The Institute is committed to improving animal health and productivity through the development and application of new technologies and biotechnologies.
In addition to animal health and productivity, NIAB also focuses on human health and welfare. The Institute aims to contribute to human health by conducting research in areas such as cancer biology, neurobiology, and infectious diseases. By promoting interdisciplinary research and collaborations, NIAB aims to bridge the gap between basic and translational research, and translate research findings into practical applications that benefit society.
