Applications are invited only through online mode for direct recruitment temporarily to the post of Pharmacist in the Tamil Nadu Medical Subordinate Service.

Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualification

Candidates must possess:

1. A Diploma in Pharmacy, Bachelor of Pharmacy (B.Pharm), or Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D).
2. Mandatory registration with the Tamil Nadu Pharmacy Council and regular renewal of registration.

Citizenship Requirements

Candidates must be:

• A citizen of India or
• A subject of Nepal or Bhutan or
• A person of Indian origin who migrated from select countries with the intention of permanently settling in India.
  (Note: Candidates from Nepal, Bhutan, and other specified countries must obtain a certificate of eligibility from the Government of Tamil Nadu.)

Selection Process

Scheme of Examination (Objective Type)

1. Tamil Language Eligibility Test (SSLC Standard)

   • Duration: 1 Hour
   • Maximum Marks: 50
   • Qualifying Marks: 40

2. Computer-Based Test (CBT) for Pharmacist

   • Duration: 2 Hours
   • Maximum Marks: 100
   • Qualifying Marks:
     • SC / SCA / ST: 30
     • Others: 35

Important Notes:

• The examination will be of Diploma level in Pharmacy.
• The question paper will be in English only and will consist of 100 objective-type questions.
• No negative marking for incorrect answers.
• No interview for the post.

Normalization of Marks

If the Computer-Based Examination is conducted in multiple sessions, scores will be normalized to ensure fairness.

COVID-19 Duty Incentive Marks

Candidates who served in Government Medical Institutions during the COVID-19 pandemic will be awarded additional incentive marks as follows:

• 6 to 12 months: 2 marks
• 12 to 18 months: 3 marks
• 18 to 24 months: 4 marks
• More than 24 months: 5 marks

(Note: Candidates must submit a valid COVID Duty Certificate from the appropriate authority.)

Examination Centers

• The exam will be conducted in one or more centers across all 38 districts of Tamil Nadu.
• The Board reserves the right to modify the number of centers as per administrative requirements.

• Others: ₹1000
