The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) is India’s central bank and regulatory authority for the country’s banking system. It plays a crucial role in:

Established on April 1, 1935, in accordance with the Reserve Bank of India Act, 1934, the RBI operates under the ownership of the Government of India, specifically under the purview of the Ministry of Finance. Despite being a government-owned institution, it functions with a significant degree of autonomy to maintain its independence in carrying out its responsibilities.
Overview
The Reserve Bank of India (RBI), Chennai, invites applications for one (01) part-time Pharmacist post on a contractual basis. This position falls under the Unreserved category and offers a fixed hourly remuneration. The contract duration is a maximum of 240 days, subject to renewal based on performance.
Eligibility Criteria
Educational Qualification
- Minimum Requirement: SSLC/Matriculation or its equivalent examination.
- Diploma in Pharmacy: From a recognized university registered under the Pharmacy Act, 1948.
- Bachelor’s Degree: Applicants with a B.Pharm degree are also eligible.
Experience
- State Pharmacy Council Registration: Must be registered.
- Minimum Experience: Two (02) years as a pharmacist. Preference for experience with Public Sector Banks (PSBs), Public Sector Units (PSUs), or Government organizations.
- Computer Skills: Basic working knowledge required.
Remuneration and Conditions
- Hourly Rate: Rs. 400/- per hour.
- Daily Maximum: Rs. 2000/- per day, up to 5 hours per day.
- Contract Duration: Up to 240 days, renewable based on performance.
- Dispensary Allocation: The Bank may allocate any dispensary within Chennai. Pharmacists may be assigned to one or more dispensaries as needed.
- Non-Entitlement: No entitlement to pay, allowance, or other benefits of regular employees.
- Termination: The Bank reserves the right to terminate the contract without notice.
Selection Process
Shortlisting Criteria
- Educational Qualifications: Consideration of overall qualifications (PG/Degree/Diploma).
- Proximity: Distance from residence to Bank’s dispensaries.
- Experience: Preference for experience with PSBs, PSUs, or Government organizations.
Interview Process
- Interview: Shortlisted candidates will be interviewed. The Bank reserves the right to set higher eligibility standards to limit the number of interviewees.
- Medical Examination: Candidates must undergo a medical examination and document verification before engagement.
- Final Selection: Based on medical fitness, document verification, and acceptance of contract terms.

- Confidentiality: Maintain strict secrecy regarding the Bank’s affairs.
- Integrity: Serve the Bank honestly and faithfully.
- Non-Political: No involvement in political activities or demonstrations.
- Union Restrictions: No membership or association with trade unions.
- Media Restrictions: No press contributions or publications without Bank’s approval.
- Gift Policy: No solicitation or acceptance of gifts.
- Attendance: No absence without prior permission and acceptable alternate arrangements.
- No Outsourcing: Service must not be outsourced.
Conduct
- Intoxication: Compliance with laws related to intoxicants. No intoxication during duty or in public places.
- Sexual Harassment: Zero tolerance for sexual harassment.
