About Indian Pharmacopoeia Commission (IPC)

The Indian Pharmacopoeia Commission (IPC) is an autonomous institution under the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India. It is established with the purpose of establishing standards for drugs in the country. The primary function of IPC is to regularly update the standards of drugs that are commonly used for treating prevalent diseases in the region. This is achieved through the publication of official documents known as the Indian Pharmacopoeia (IP).

The Indian Pharmacopoeia serves as a reference guide for the quality of medicines by incorporating new and updating existing monographs. These monographs outline the standards for the identity, purity, and strength of drugs, focusing on the healthcare needs of both human beings and animals. By doing so, IPC plays a crucial role in ensuring the quality and efficacy of pharmaceuticals used in the country.

In addition to the Indian Pharmacopoeia, IPC contributes to the promotion of rational drug use by publishing the National Formulary of India. This initiative aims to encourage the appropriate and judicious use of generic medicines. Overall, IPC’s efforts are geared towards enhancing the quality of medicines and promoting their responsible use in the healthcare sector.

Qualification:

Pharm.D / MBBS / BDS from a recognized university/Institute OR Master’s degree in Pharmacy / Clinical Pharmacology / Pharmacy Practice / Clinical Research.
Experience:

Minimum 05 years’ experience in Pharmacovigilance Activities
Soft Skills:

Knowledge of verbal and written communication in English.
Age:

Not exceeding 40 years

Job Description:

  1. Work as a team member/leader to manage the Collection, Collation & Analysis of Adverse Events associated with Medical Products.
  2. Effective implementation of Quality & Safety Management System under PvPI.
  3. Coordinating / Liaising with different PvPI stakeholders for the expansion and growth of the program.
  4. Any other duty assigned by the Competent Authority from time to time.

Period of Engagement:

The tenure of the contract will be for a period of one year. However, in case the work and conduct of the staff are not found to be satisfactory during the contract tenure, the services may be terminated at any time without assigning any reason thereof.

General Instructions:

  1. The competent authority reserves the right to increase or decrease the number of vacancies and reject/select/cancel the applications received without assigning any reason.
  2. The interview will be conducted at IPC, Ghaziabad. No TA/DA shall be paid for attending the interview.
  3. It is not obligatory on the part of IPC or Manpower Outsourcing Services Providing Agency to call the applicant for an interview.
  4. Experience/Age may be relaxed at the discretion of the Competent Authority.
  5. The candidate is responsible for the correctness of the information provided in the application. If it is found at a later stage that any information given in the application is incorrect/false, the candidature/appointment is liable to be cancelled/terminated.
