Great opportunity for Ph.D or M.Pharm, M.Sc as Research Associate (10 posts) at CBMR

The Centre of Bio-Medical Research (CBMR) aims to establish a top-notch research institute focused on disease-specific research. Its goal is to translate lab discoveries into new diagnostic and therapeutic approaches for the betterment of humanity. The research at CBMR covers both chemical and bioscience fields, and places a strong emphasis on interdisciplinary programs, collaborations, and the education and training of future biomedical researchers.

Department of Biological & Synthetic Chemistry:

The Department of Biological & Synthetic Chemistry at CBMR requires candidates to hold a PhD or equivalent degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biomedical Engineering, Biology, Physics, Biotechnology, Computer Science, Information Technology, Life Sciences, MD, MS, or MDS. Alternatively, they may have 3 years of research, teaching, and design and development experience after completing MVSc, M.Pharm, ME, or M.Tech with at least one publication in a Science Citation Indexed (SCI) journal.

Desirable: Desirable qualifications include research experience in Organic synthesis, Catalysis, or Chemical Biology.

Department of Biomedical Engineering and Devices:

The Department of Biomedical Engineering and Devices at CBMR requires the same minimum qualifications as the Department of Biological & Synthetic Chemistry, with a desirable qualification being research experience in Biomedical Devices.

Department of Advanced Spectroscopy and Imaging:

The Department of Advanced Spectroscopy and Imaging at CBMR requires candidates to hold a PhD or equivalent degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biomedical Engineering, Biology, Physics, Biotechnology, Computer Science, Information Technology, Life Sciences, MD, MS, or MDS. Alternatively, they may have 3 years of research, teaching, and design and development experience after completing MVSc, M.Pharm, ME, or M.Tech with at least one publication in a Science Citation Indexed (SCI) journal.

Desirable: Desirable qualifications include research experience in dealing with Biological fluids using Mass Spectroscopy, Plant metabolomics, NMR or MRI methodology, or NMR based clinical or pre-clinical metabolomics.

Department of Data Sciences:

The Department of Data Sciences at CBMR requires the same minimum qualifications as the Department of Advanced Spectroscopy and Imaging, with a desirable qualification being research experience in artificial intelligence, machine learning, artificial intelligence algorithm development, and software development.

Department of Systems Biology:

The Department of Systems Biology at CBMR requires candidates to hold a PhD or equivalent degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biomedical Engineering, Biology, Physics, Biotechnology, Computer Science, Information Technology, Life Sciences, MD, MS, or MDS, or have 3 years of research, teaching, and design and development experience after MVSc, M.Pharm, ME, or M.Tech with at least one publication in a Science Citation Indexed (SCI) journal.

Desirable: Desirable qualifications include research experience in handling cell lines, enzymes assays, cloning, and expression studies.

The upper age limit for applicants is 35 years, with a relaxation of 5 years for schedule caste/scheduled tribes, physically handicapped, and women applicants, and 3 years for OBC (Non-Creamy layer) candidates. There is no age relaxation for SC/ST/OBC candidates applying for an unreserved seat, and there is horizontal reservation in accordance with UP Government rules. The Research Associate (RA) position will initially be tenable for a period of one year, which may be extendable up to two more years based on performance.

The stipend for the Research Associate (RA) position at the Centre of Bio-Medical Research (CBMR) will be as follows:

• 1st year: 36,000/- per month
• 2nd year: 38,000/- per month
• 3rd year: 40,000/- per month

The selection process for the RA position will be through an interview, conducted by a high-level expert committee. The eligibility criteria are not a guarantee for being called for the interview, which will be based on the screening criteria adopted by CBMR, depending on the number of RAs available. The final decision of CBMR on the selection for the interview or award of RA will be binding on the candidate. The validity of the award letter will be 6 months from the date mentioned, with no extension beyond 6 months.

The General Terms and Conditions for a job posting at the Centre of BioMedical Research in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh, India are as follows:

1. The application format is available on the Centre’s website and should be sent with copies of relevant documents (educational qualifications, experience, etc.)
2. Reservation policies will be in accordance with the Public Services (Reservation for Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, and Other Backward Classes) Act of 1994 and government orders.
3. Women candidates, candidates from outside Uttar Pradesh, and certain other categories are not eligible for reservation/age relaxation.
4. Application fee is Rs. 1000 for general category and Rs. 500 for OBC/SC/ST/PWD/EWS (domiciled in Uttar Pradesh) and should be paid via bank transfer.
5. The Institute is not responsible for incomplete or incorrect information on the application.
6. Application should be sent by speed post/registered post/courier and must be addressed to the Director of CBMR.
7. The number of posts is subject to change and Director of the Centre reserves the right to reject any applications.
8. Incomplete applications will not be considered and concealing of information or providing false information will result in disqualification.
9. No TA/DA will be provided for the interview and original documents will be verified at the time of the interview.
10. Soft copy of the application can be sent by email, but the hard copy with all relevant documents must be received before the deadline.
