Position Overview:

ICMR is inviting applications for two prestigious positions:

1. Scientist-C (Non-Medical)
2. Scientist-D (Non-Medical)

These positions are available under Direct Recruitment for the Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) Unit, with all-India transfer liability.

Position 1: Scientist-C (Non-Medical)

No. of Vacancies: 01
Pay Scale: Level 11 (Rs. 67,700 – 2,08,700) as per 7th CPC

Essential Qualifications:

• Master’s degree in relevant subjects such as Biochemistry, Chemistry, Biotechnology, Sociology, and more (refer to the detailed list above).
• Experience: 4 years in IPR Management in healthcare/medicines/therapeutics in Govt./Public/Private sector.

Desirable:

• Ph.D. in fields such as Biochemistry, Pharmacology, Immunology, or related disciplines.

Age Limit:

Maximum age: 40 years (Relaxable as per Govt. norms).

Job Responsibilities:

• Manage IP portfolio and technology transfer for ICMR.
• Perform IP management tasks including patentability and FTO searches, patent filing and prosecution, and interacting with stakeholders and law firms.
• Draft and implement ICMR’s IP policies and legal agreements.

Position 2: Scientist-D (Non-Medical)

No. of Vacancies: 01
Pay Scale: Level 12 (Rs. 78,800 – 2,09,200) as per 7th CPC

Essential Qualifications:

• Master’s degree in relevant subjects such as Public Health, Microbiology, or related disciplines.
• Experience: 8 years in IPR Management in healthcare/medicines/therapeutics in Govt./Public/Private sector.

Desirable:

• Ph.D. in relevant fields such as Biotechnology, Medical Genetics, Immunology, or related disciplines.

Age Limit:

Maximum age: 40 years (Relaxable as per Govt. norms).

Job Responsibilities:

• Lead IP and technology transfer activities at ICMR.
• Draft standard procedures for managing patent portfolios.
• Promote entrepreneurship and provide strategic advice on IP matters.

Selection Procedure:

• Mode: Computer-based test or interview, or both.
• The written test will be based on research methods and a minimum qualifying percentile of 75% is required.
• Top 12 qualified candidates will be shortlisted for the interview.
