About Indian Air Force
The Indian Air Force provides opportunities for male Indian and Gorkha citizens (subjects of Nepal) from the states of Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, Meghalaya, Sikkim, West Bengal, Odisha, Chhattisgarh, and Jharkhand to join the IAF as Airmen in the Group ‘Y’, Medical Assistant trade. The Recruitment Test will take place at Air Force Station Barrackpore, 24 Parganas (North), West Bengal, following the selection program outlined below.

Districts Covered: All districts of Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, Meghalaya, Sikkim, West Bengal, Odisha, Chhattisgarh, and Jharkhand
Eligibility Criteria
Marital Status and Date of Birth:
- For Medical Assistant trade: Unmarried candidates born between 26 Dec 2002 and 26 Dec 2006 (inclusive).
- For Medical Assistant trade (with Diploma / B.Sc in Pharmacy):
- Unmarried candidates born between 26 Dec 1999 and 26 Dec 2004 (inclusive).
- Married candidates born between 26 Dec 1999 and 26 Dec 2002 (inclusive).
Educational QualificationRequired at Indian Air Force:
- Passed 10+2 / Intermediate / Equivalent Examination with Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and English from recognized Education Boards with minimum 50% marks in aggregate and 50% marks in English.
- Or, passed two years’ vocational course with non-vocational subjects (Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and English) from recognized Education Boards with minimum 50% marks in aggregate and 50% marks in English.
- For candidates with Diploma / B.Sc in Pharmacy, passed Intermediate/10+2/Equivalent Examination with Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and English with minimum 50% marks in aggregate and 50% marks in English. Also, possess Diploma / B.Sc in Pharmacy with minimum 50% marks in aggregate and valid registration from State Pharmacy Council or Pharmacy Council of India (PCI) at the time of enrolment.
Domicile Requirement
- Qualifying examination from a college/institute within the geographical/administrative limits of the specified districts.
- In case the State/District is not mentioned on the certificate/marks sheet, candidates must produce a ‘Domicile Certificate’ issued by an authorized Gazetted Officer or State Government official.
- Permanent domicile of specified districts whose qualifying examination was from anywhere in India must produce Domicile Certificate prior to the examination.
Mandatory Medical Standards
- Height: Minimum 152.5 cms
- Chest: Well proportioned with minimum 5 cm expansion
- Weight: Proportionate to height and age
- Hearing: Normal hearing, able to hear forced whisper from 6 meters
- Dental: Healthy gums, good teeth (minimum 14 dental points)
- Vision: Visual acuity, refractive error, and color vision requirements apply
- General Health: Normal anatomy without disabilities, physically and mentally fit for duty worldwide
Selection Procedure at Indian Air Force
1. Verification of Eligibility: Original educational certificates and applicable documents to be verified before Physical Fitness Test.
2. Physical Fitness Test (PFT): Run, push-ups, sit-ups, and squats within stipulated time.
3. Written Test: Objective type test covering English (20 questions) and Reasoning & General Awareness (30 questions).
4. Adaptability Test-II: Assesses adaptability to the military environment.
5. Medical Examination: Detailed medical examination including baseline investigations.
General Instructions
- Carry AADHAAR Card for identity or valid ID proof (J&K, Assam, Meghalaya candidates).
- Stay for tests under own arrangement, no TA/DA provided.
- Provide active e-mail ID and mobile number for communication.
- PSL display on 14 Nov 2023, validity for 6 months for Airmen Intake No. 02/2023.
- Enrolment List published on 24 Nov 2023, call letters sent via e-mail.
- English version of the advertisement considered authentic.
