Job Description
As a Pharmacist, you will be responsible for coordinating and providing clinical pharmacy services that address complex and specialized problems. Key duties include:
- Clinical Services: Offer specialized clinical pharmacy services to manage complex issues.
- Medical Collaboration: Attend medical rounds and conferences with physicians to provide vital information for evaluating and implementing optimal medication plans for both inpatients and outpatients.
- Pharmaceutical Dosing: Establish and maintain a comprehensive pharmaceutical dosing service.
- Medication Utilization: Assist the medical staff in designing and implementing an effective Medication Utilization Evaluation (MUE) program to enhance therapeutic effectiveness and reduce waste.
- Operational Policies: Oversee pharmacy-related operational policies and provide functional direction to pharmacy staff involved in clinical services.
Candidate Profile
Education
- Requirement: A doctoral degree in Pharmacy recognized by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE) or an accrediting body recognized by the U.S. Department of Education at the time the degree was obtained. Note: You must attach a copy of your transcripts.
Exemption
- Current Federal Employees: If you are a current federal employee in the 0660 occupational series and have been continuously employed in this series since September 27, 2017, or earlier, you are exempt from the basic education requirement. Note: Appropriate documentation must be provided to the Human Resources Office to validate your status.
Licensure
- Requirement: A current, active, valid, and unrestricted license to practice pharmacy in a State, territory of the United States, or the District of Columbia. Note: You must attach a copy of your license.
Medical Requirement
- Requirement: Must be able to distinguish basic colors.
Experience
- Requirement: One year of professional pharmacy experience, including sterile and/or non-sterile compounding, dispensing medication, and providing medication counseling to patients.
Conditions of Employment
- Background Investigation: Appointment may require a suitability or fitness determination based on a completed background investigation.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification: This position requires BLS training certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
- Immunizations/Vaccinations: Must be screened for and obtain necessary immunizations/vaccinations (e.g., hepatitis, influenza), unless exempted by a licensed physician.
- Physical Examination: A pre-employment physical is required, followed by annual examinations.

Salary
- Range: USD 124,081 – USD 146,410 per year
