Vadodara Municipal Corporation (VMC) established in July 1950 under the Bombay Provincial Corporation Act, 1949, is responsible for the civic infrastructure and administration of the city of Vadodara. Vadodara Municipal Corporation has been formed with functions to improve the infrastructure of town.

As early as the year 183d, it was realized that municipal efforts were necessary within the city walls. It was decreed that the four main roads would be regularly watered through a newly established municipal agency. The expenses were to be covered by imposing a fee on shopkeepers. While this fee was initially collected for a brief period, the task of watering the roads persisted. The Baroda state government then took on the responsibility of funding the road watering expenses. Moreover, there was a recognition of the need to maintain and construct new roads. To finance these endeavors, it was decided to impose charges on specific imported and exported goods.

Educational Qualification & Experience:

  1. Bachelor’s Degree in Pharmacy from a University established under Central or State Act in India OR Deemed University under Section 3 of U.G.C. Act, 1956 OR an equivalent qualification recognized by the Government.
  2. Diploma in Pharmacy and a minimum of 2 years’ experience as Junior Pharmacist in Government/Government undertaking/Board OR as Dispenser in Hospital or Dispensary OR as Pharmacist or Medical Representative of any Pharmaceutical Company established under the Companies Act, 2013.
  3. Basic Knowledge of Computer as per GCSR (General) Rules, 1967.
  4. Knowledge of Gujarati and/or Hindi.

Pay Scale:

  1. Fixed salary of Rs.31,340/- per month for five years.
  2. Level-5 as per 7th Pay Commission (Pay Matrix 29,200-92,300).
  3. Govt Finance Department Resolution No:Kharach/2002/574-1, Dated 1 will be eligible for probationary appointment for five years from monthly fixed salary. Satisfactorily completed will be considered for inclusion as per fixed pay matrix 2 rules as per 7th Pay Commission.

Age: Not More than 35 years.

Relaxation in Age Limit:

  1. No age bar for Vadodara Municipal Corporation employees; they must apply online.
  2. Female candidates eligible for age limit relaxation as per existing rules.
  3. Candidates with physical disability of 40% or more eligible for disability benefit.
  4. Reserved category 1 candidates can apply within general category age limit but won’t receive age limit relaxation, except women candidates who get a 5-year relaxation.
  5. Socially and Educationally Backward Classes eligible for reservation if not part of “advanced class”.
  6. SEBC (S.S.P.W.) candidates with valid Non-Criminal Certificate dated 01.01 issued between 04-2021 to 28-08-2023 eligible for age limit relaxation and reservation.
  7. Married women candidates must produce parents’ income certificate, not husband’s.
  8. All posts reserved for Economically Weaker Section (EWS). EWS candidates with Eligibility Certificate from 01-04-2021 to 28-08-2023 within age limit get concessions and category reservation.
  9. Reserved category candidates need valid caste certificate from Gujarat Govt.
  10. Reserved category candidates selected on merits with unreserved category candidates, except relaxation in norms.
  11. Relaxation in upper age limit up to 45 years after all age relaxations considered.
