Hiring: Formulation Scientist – Vaccine R&D

Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced and innovative Vaccine Formulation Scientist to join our Vaccine R&D team. This role is essential in designing and optimizing vaccine formulations with a focus on stability, immunogenicity, and scalability for diverse delivery platforms. The ideal candidate will have expertise in adjuvants, emulsions, and nanoparticle systems, along with knowledge of regulatory and manufacturing requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Vaccine Formulation Design: Develop formulations incorporating adjuvants, emulsions, nanoparticles, and other systems to enhance immune response and product stability.
• Pre-Formulation Studies: Assess physicochemical properties of antigens, excipients, and adjuvants.
• Optimization for Immunogenicity: Use advanced techniques (emulsions, liposomes) to optimize formulations for immune response and scalability.
• Stability Testing: Perform stability analyses under varied conditions to ensure shelf-life and safety.
• Cross-functional Collaboration: Work with process development, analytical, and regulatory teams to streamline R&D to clinical manufacturing.
• Process Development: Develop scalable manufacturing processes for vaccine formulations.
• Research & Development: Stay updated on advancements in vaccine adjuvants, delivery systems, and regulatory standards.
• Documentation: Prepare technical reports, SOPs, and regulatory submission documents.
• Tech Transfer Support: Facilitate the transition of formulations from lab scale to large-scale production.

Qualifications

• Education: PhD or Master’s in Pharmaceutical Sciences, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, or related field with a focus on vaccine development or formulation science.
• Experience: 5-10 years in vaccine formulation development, particularly with adjuvant systems and immune modulation.
• Expertise: Strong background in formulation stability studies, data analysis, and adherence to cGMP and GLP regulatory standards.
• Skills: Problem-solving, effective communication, and teamwork.

Preferred Skills

• Knowledge of sterile formulation and lyophilization.
• Experience with particle characterization (e.g., particle sizing, zeta potential, HPLC, DLS).
• Familiarity with immunological assays (e.g., ELISA, flow cytometry) to evaluate vaccine efficacy.
