Hospital Pharmacist

A hospital pharmacist is responsible for dispensing medication to patients in a hospital setting, as well as advising healthcare professionals on the safe and effective use of medication. They work closely with doctors, nurses, and other healthcare staff to ensure that patients receive the correct medication and dosage. Additionally, they may also be responsible for reviewing patient charts and monitoring for potential drug interactions or allergies. They also may be involved in drug purchasing and inventory management for hospital.

They will work closely with doctors, nurses, and other healthcare staff to ensure that patients receive the correct medication and dosage. Additionally, they may also be responsible for reviewing patient charts and monitoring for potential drug interactions or allergies. They also may be involved in drug purchasing and inventory management for the retail pharmacy.

Primary Responsibility:

This job posting is for a Retail pharmacist position in Dibrugarh and Barpeta, India, with 0-3 years of experience. The primary responsibilities of the pharmacist will include:

• Counseling patients on the safe and effective use of medication
• Managing the inventory of the retail pharmacy
• Handling the administration of the store
• Processing and dispensing prescribed medicines
• Managing the stock levels and conducting stock audits
• Monitoring and managing the expiration dates of medications
• Ensuring patient safety and effective communication with healthcare professionals
• The pharmacist should be comfortable working rotating shifts including night shifts.
• The candidate should have the following qualifications:
  • A pharmaceutical educational background with a degree in B.Pharma or D.Pharma.
  • Knowledge of advanced Excel and billing experience in a medicine store.
  • Knowledge of chemotherapy or chemo drugs will be an added advantage.
  • Knowledge of hospital inpatient department supply flow.
  • Knowledge of local language is required.
  • The candidate should have a valid license/certification for registration/renewal from the state of Kolkata.
