About DRILS

Dr. Reddy’s Institute of Life Sciences (DRILS) is a non-profit research institution established to serve as a premier research partner for the pharmaceutical and life sciences industries. The Institute operates autonomously and was created through a collaborative effort involving the State Government of Telangana, Dr. Reddy’s Laboratories (a private industry player), and the University of Hyderabad.

Inaugurated in 2007, DRILS is located within the University of Hyderabad campus and spans an area of 130,000 square feet (approximately 12,000 square meters). The public-private partnership model under which it was established integrates resources and expertise from both the public and private sectors to foster innovation and research excellence. The governance of DRILS is overseen by a Board of Directors, which includes distinguished scientists and industry visionaries who guide the institute’s strategic direction and research endeavors.
