Post: Assistant Manager, Strategic Forecasting
Job Description:
- Develop Forecasts: Create forecasts for specific therapeutic areas using patient-based forecast models, ensuring alignment with various client stakeholders such as Marketing, Sales, Market Access, Pricing, and more.
- Objective Forecasting: Ensure the objectivity of forecasts by establishing accuracy objectives and conducting thorough analytical assessments.
- Strategic Planning: Develop short-term and long-term volume forecasts to support strategic and operational planning processes.
- Sensitivity Analysis: Conduct sensitivity analysis to identify opportunities and manage risks effectively.
- Strategic Guidance: Provide strategic perspective and guidance on brand and franchise forecasting, as well as new product introduction forecasting.
- Customer Focus: Develop a deep understanding of customer data and analytical needs, particularly in leadership roles.
Analytical Problem-Solving: Utilize quantitative approaches to solve brand-level analytical challenges.
Collaboration: Foster collaborative relationships with internal and external partners to obtain relevant data and analysis for forecast inputs.
Presentation Skills: Confidently present and defend forecast approach, methodology, assumptions, and outputs at the executive level.
Initiative Leadership: Recommend and lead initiatives to advance and implement new forecast approaches and methodologies.
Analytics Focus: Emphasize analytics to provide valuable insights for improvement opportunities.
Industry Monitoring: Stay updated on leading analytic capabilities within and outside the pharmaceutical industry.
Candidate Profile:
- Education: M Pharma, MBA, or Master’s in engineering, statistics, data science, applied mathematics, business analytics, or a related quantitative discipline.
- Experience: Pharmaceutical forecasting and analytical experience, particularly in strategic forecasting and new product launch.
- Data Expertise: Familiarity with standard datasets in the pharmaceutical industry and experience with time series modeling.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel and PowerPoint. Experience with Python, R, or SAS is desirable.
- Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Proactivity: Proactive, enthusiastic, and self-driven with a positive work ethic and ability to deliver results under tight deadlines.
- Problem-Solving: Ability to break traditional patterns of thought and generate imaginative solutions to business challenges.
- Technical Capability: Proficiency in applying deeper technical skills and knowledge across functional areas.
