The Regional Drugs Testing Laboratory (RDTL) in Chandigarh, operating under the Central Drugs Standard Control Organisation (CDSCO), invites applications for the role of Director. Established in November 2007, RDTL is one of seven national laboratories dedicated to the rigorous testing of drugs and cosmetics, ensuring public health safety through quality control.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the Chemical, Instrumentation, and Microbiological analysis of drugs and cosmetic products.
- Manage infrastructure, equipment, and personnel for the laboratory’s efficient operation.
- Coordinate activities across different branches within the Drug Testing Laboratory.
Eligibility Criteria:
Officers from Central/State Governments, Union territories, recognized Research Institutions, Public Sector Undertakings, Semi-Government, Statutory, or Autonomous Organizations who:
- Hold an analogous post on a regular basis in their parent cadre or department; or
- Have five years of service in Pay Level 12 (pre-revised Pay Band-3 with Grade Pay Rs. 7600) or equivalent.
Educational Qualifications and Experience:
- Master’s degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Pharmaceutical Chemistry, Pharmacy, or Pharmacology from a recognized university or equivalent.
- 12 years’ experience in drug testing, with a track record of coordinating laboratory activities.
Information:
- Age Limit: Maximum 56 years as of the closing date of the application.
- Deputation Period: The deputation, including the short-term contract, is typically limited to 5 years.
- Service Consideration: Service rendered on a regular basis before 01.01.2006 will be considered as per the revised pay structure.

- Attested copies of APAR/ACRs for the last five years.
- Integrity Certificate.
- Vigilance Clearance Certificate.
- Statement of penalties (if any) imposed in the last 10 years.
- Verification certificate of the candidate’s service particulars.
- Cadre Clearance Certificate.
