About PCIM&H

The Pharmacopoeia Commission for Indian Medicine & Homoeopathy (PCIM&H) operates as a subordinate office under the Ministry of AYUSH (Ayurveda, Yoga & Naturopathy, Unani, Siddha, and Homoeopathy), which is a government body in India. PCIM&H primarily focuses on the development of pharmacopoeias and formularies for Indian systems of Medicine and Homoeopathy. Additionally, it serves as the Central Drug Testing cum Appellate Laboratory for these traditional systems of medicine.

The commission’s origins trace back to its establishment as the Pharmacopoeia Commission for Indian Medicine (PCIM) on August 18, 2010. Initially functioning as an autonomous body under the Ministry of AYUSH, PCIM was officially registered under the Societies Registration Act, 1860, on August 31, 2010. The commission plays a crucial role in standardizing and ensuring the quality of drugs and formulations used in traditional Indian medicine and homoeopathy through the development of pharmacopoeias and formularies.

Job Post: Pharmacopoeial Associate

1. Pharmacopoeial Associate (Microbiology) – 01 Post

  • Age Limit: Should not exceed 30 years for fresh engagement.
  • Qualification:
    • Essential: M. Sc. (Microbiology) with 2 years of experience in microbial analysis of Drugs/Research. Or Ph. D. in Microbiology.
  • Monthly Remuneration: 32,000/-

2. Pharmacopoeial Associate (Pharmacology) – 01 Post

  • Age Limit: Should not exceed 30 years for fresh engagement.
  • Qualification:
    • Essential: M.Pharm. (Pharmacology) with 2 years of experience in pharmacological studies of Drugs/Research. Or Ph.D. in Pharmacology/Pharmaceutical Science. Or M. V. Sc. (Pharmacology).
  • Monthly Remuneration: 32,000/-

3. Pharmacopoeial Associate (Publication) – 01 Post

  • Age Limit: Should not exceed 30 years for fresh engagement.
  • Qualification:
    • Essential:
      1. Bachelor’s in any discipline from a recognized University.
      2. Should have good communication, writing ability, and interpersonal skills.
      3. Knowledge in computer applications such as MS Word, MS Excel & Power Point.
    • Desirable: 2 yrs. Experience in any research institute.
  • Monthly Remuneration: 25,000/-

Note:

  1. The engagement will be purely on a contractual basis through an outsourced agency, and no claim for continuance or regular appointment will be entertained under any circumstances.
  2. Only those candidates who receive the confirmation email for appearing in the interview will be considered.
  3. Applications received after the last date will not be considered.
  4. Age limit will be decided as of the last date of the application.
  5. The contract initially would be for a maximum period of one year, extendable based on functional requirements and performance appraisal.
  6. Applicable deductions for ESI, PF, and taxes will be as per rules.
  7. The eligibility of candidates will be determined as per the essential qualification.
  8. No TA/DA will be paid for attending the interview.
  9. The Director, PCIM&H reserves the right to accept or reject the application and postpone or cancel the interview without assigning any reason.

Applications should reach the specified email address dir.pcimh-ayush@gov.in by 28th Feb., 2024 (till 5.30 PM). Shortlisted candidates will be informed of the interview details via email. The engagement period will be initially for one year, based on interview performance. Applications must be submitted in the prescribed format with self-attested documents and a signed biodata.
