Medical Writer

Job Description: Responsibilities:

  • Content Creation: Write content for healthcare professionals, including clinical summaries, medical news, quizzes, and updates from various reliable sources such as clinical research publications, professional medical practice, regulatory authorities, and medical conferences.
  • Database Utilization: Utilize databases like PubMed, Ovid, and medical conference sites for research and information gathering.
  • End-to-End Project Management: Take ownership of all content-related aspects of assigned projects from inception to launch, including conceptualization, writing, revising, annotating with source references, and conducting quality assurance (QA) checks.
  • Quality and Compliance: Ensure that all copy is accurate, well-organized, and complies with WebMD’s technical specifications. Maintain a strong knowledge of medical information.
  • Project and Workload Management: Handle multiple projects simultaneously, maintain high quality, and meet copy deadlines. Collaborate effectively with internal teams (e.g., editorial and production) to ensure project quality and smooth progress.
  • Content Curation: Curate content in a proprietary format.

Candidate Profile: Requirements:

  • Educational Background: Hold a Ph.D., Pharm.D, M.Pharm, or any other medical degree (e.g., MBBS, MD, BAMS, BHMS) with 2-3+ years of relevant work experience.
  • Medical Writing Experience: Demonstrate experience in medical writing, particularly for healthcare professionals, or possess an equivalent combination of related education and experience.
  • Digital Writing: Have experience in writing for the digital environment.
  • Data Analysis: Ability to analyze complex data and present it effectively for mobile/web applications while maintaining a clinical tone.
  • Communication Skills: Possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Independence and Innovation: Be an independent and innovative self-starter.
  • Organizational Skills: Exhibit strong organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail.
  • Information Distillation: Ability to quickly distill complex information into essential elements relevant to clinicians at the point of care.
  • Literature Evaluation: Have excellent skills in medical literature retrieval and evaluation.
  • Project Management: Be capable of managing multiple projects in a fast-paced setting.
  • Technical Proficiency: Proficient in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Basic understanding of various handheld technologies.
