The Uttarakhand Medical Service Selection Board (UKMSSB) was established in Dehradun through an Act passed by the Uttarakhand Legislative Assembly and approved by the Governor of Uttarakhand on 6th April 2015 (Uttarakhand Govt Act No. 108/xxxvi(3)/2015/26(1)/2015).
The creation of the board aimed to address the long-standing need of the people of Uttarakhand for high-quality medical services by ensuring efficient recruitment and appointment of healthcare professionals across various medical services in the state. UKMSSB plays a crucial role in selecting qualified personnel to enhance healthcare delivery and provide the highest level of medical care to the people of the region.

Pay Scale:
₹35,400 – ₹1,12,400 (Level 6)
Educational and Preferential Qualifications:
Minimum Qualification:
- Diploma in Pharmacy from a recognized institution
- Valid registration with the State Pharmacy Council, Uttarakhand (Permanent or renewed by the application deadline)
Preferential Qualifications:
Preference will be given to candidates who:
- Have served in the Territorial Army for at least 2 years
- Hold a “B” or “C” Certificate from the National Cadet Corps (NCC)
Age Limit:
- Minimum: 21 years as of 01 July 2024
- Maximum: 42 years (Relaxations applicable for SC/ST/OBC as per government norms)
Nationality Criteria:
Candidates must be:
- Indian citizens OR
- Tibetan refugees who arrived in India before 1st January 1962 with the intention of permanent settlement OR
- Persons of Indian origin who have migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, or East African countries such as Kenya, Uganda, or Tanzania, intending to settle in India permanently (subject to obtaining a valid State Eligibility Certificate).

- Conduct and Examination Guidelines:
- Candidates are prohibited from carrying mobile phones, calculators, or other electronic devices to the exam center.
- Misconduct during the exam will result in cancellation of candidature and further legal action.
- Cancellation of Candidature:
Applications found to contain false information or discrepancies at any stage will be rejected, even after final selection.
Selection Process:
The recruitment will follow a direct selection process based on qualifications and merit. Issuance of an admit card does not guarantee final selection.
