About Malabar Cancer Centre

Malabar Cancer Centre (MCC), Thalassery, is an autonomous institution under the Health and Family Welfare Department of the Government of Kerala. Established in 2001 under the Societies Registration Act XXI of 1860, MCC is located in Kodiyeri, Thalassery, within the Kannur District. Since its inception, the center has been providing clinical services to patients.

Currently, MCC has a capacity of 220 in-patient beds. The institution serves patients from seven districts in Northern Kerala, as well as from neighboring states such as Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, and the Union Territory of Mahe, covering a total population of over 1.5 crores (15 million people).

General Instructions for Online Applications

  1. Vacancies: Available for both existing and arising positions.
  2. Tenure of Appointment:
    • Contract Staff at Malabar Cancer Centre: Initially for 179 days, extendable up to a maximum of 3 years based on performance (maximum 6 tenures).
    • Contract Staff at INSeR – Malabar Cancer Centre: Initially for 1 year, extendable up to a maximum of 3 years based on performance (maximum 3 tenures).
    • Stipendiary Trainees at Malabar Cancer Centre: Initially for one year, extendable up to a maximum of 3 years of 179 days with a break, based on performance (maximum 5 tenures).
  3. Selection Process: Written test/interview.
  4. Nature of Appointment: Temporary (purely on contract).
  5. Venue for Selection Process: Administrative Block, MCC.

General Conditions

  • Admittance to the interview without required documents is at the discretion of MCC(PGIOSR).
  • Interviews will be conducted individually, potentially including a written or online test.
  • Misconduct during the process will lead to disqualification.
  • The interview will assess various competencies including subject knowledge, attitude, aptitude, and personality.
  • Incomplete interview processes will result in the candidate not being ranked.
  • Experience requirements may be relaxed if suitable candidates are not found, at the discretion of the Director, MCC(PGIOSR).
