The Mizoram Public Service Commission (MPSC) invites online applications from eligible candidates for direct recruitment to the Pharmacist (Contract) posts under the Health & Family Welfare Department, Government of Mizoram.

  • Position: Pharmacist (Contractual)

  • No. of Posts: 17 (including 1 reserved for PwBD – fully or partially deaf)

  • Category: Group ‘C’

  • Level in Pay Matrix: Level 6

  • Reservation: As per government norms

  • Posting Location: Across Mizoram (as per requirement)

Eligibility Criteria

Essential Qualifications:

  1. Educational:

    • HSSLC (Science stream) from a recognized institution.

    • Diploma in Pharmacy or higher qualification.

  2. Registration: Must be a Registered Pharmacist under the Mizoram State Pharmacy Council.

Age Limit:

  • Minimum: 18 years

  • Maximum: 35 years (as on last date of application)

  • Relaxation applicable as per Govt. norms.

Other Requirements:

  • Computer Proficiency: As per Mizoram Group A, B, and C Service Rules (Amendment 2023)

  • Mizo Language Proficiency:

    • Must clear the qualifying test in Mizo language OR

    • Exempted if studied Mizo as a subject in Class X or above.

Selection Process

Written Examination (Total – 600 Marks):

  1. Paper I – General English: 100 Marks (3 hours)

  2. Paper II – General Knowledge (MCQ): 100 Marks (2 hours)

  3. Paper III – Technical Subject I (MCQ): 200 Marks (2 hours)

  4. Paper IV – Technical Subject II (MCQ): 200 Marks (2 hours)

Personal Interview: 80 Marks
Total Marks: 680

Syllabus Highlights

  • General English: Grammar, precis, comprehension, vocabulary, sentence formation.

  • General Knowledge: Current events, Indian history, polity, geography, environment, science, and Mizo culture.

  • Technical Papers:

    • Paper I: Pharmaceutics, cosmetics, tablets, capsules, injections, herbal formulations, errors in pharmacy, pharmacovigilance.

    • Paper II: Pharmacology, patient counselling, prescription handling, drugs acting on various systems, chemotherapeutics, community pharmacy management, drug regulations, IPR.
