Malabar Cancer Centre (MCC) is a significant healthcare institution in Kerala, India, operating under the auspices of the Health and Family Welfare Department, Government of Kerala. Established in 2001 under the Societies Registration Act XXI of 1860, MCC is situated in Kodiyeri, Thalassery, within the Kannur District. It commenced its clinical services in the same year of its establishment.

MCC boasts a substantial in-patient capacity, with 220 beds available for those seeking treatment. Its primary focus is on cancer care, serving patients not only from within the Kannur District but also from seven other districts in Northern Kerala. Additionally, MCC extends its services to patients from neighboring states such as Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, and the union territory of Mahe, encompassing a total population of over 1.5 crores. This broad catchment area underscores the vital role that MCC plays in providing oncological care to a large and diverse population.

Clinical Trial Coordinator – 01 Post

Applications are now open for the position of Clinical Trial Coordinator, a purely temporary role, for a short-term research project at Malabar Cancer Centre, Thalassery.

Project Details:

  • Objective: To establish a ready network of clinical trial units across the National Cancer Grid to promote multi-centric collaborative research in drug and device development.
  • Funding Agency: Biotechnology Industry Research Assistance Council (BIRAC), Government of India.

Qualification:

  • Pharm.D / M.Pharm / BDS / MPH / MSc (Biostatistics) / MSc Clinical Research / MSc Nursing
  • Or MSc Life Science / BTech Biotechnology with Postgraduate Diploma in Clinical Research.

Experience (Essential):

  • 1 year experience in clinical trials or in a Research project in a funded research project or Pharma-sponsored or in Industry-supported trials.

Maximum Age Limit:

  • 30 years.

Remuneration/Month:

  • Rs. 30,000/-

Terms & Conditions:

  1. The tenure of temporary posting shall be for a period of one year or till completion of the project.
  2. The post will be stationed at Malabar Cancer Centre, Thalassery.
  3. Since the post is purely temporary, selected incumbents will have no claim for regular posts and benefits.
  4. Applications will be screened, and selected candidates will be called for an interview. Late applications will not be considered.
  5. Attempts to influence any official of MCC will result in outright rejection of the application.
  6. No TA/DA will be provided for the interview or joining of the post. Outstationed candidates must arrange their own accommodation.
  7. Qualification and experience should be from a recognized University or organization.
  8. Age will be calculated as on 1st January of the year (01-01-2024).
  9. The decision of the Director is final in all aspects of recruitment.
  10. Canvassing in any form will lead to automatic disqualification.
