Malabar Cancer Centre (MCC) is an autonomous institution dedicated to providing comprehensive cancer care and conducting world-class research and training in oncology. It is located in Thalassery, Kannur district of Kerala, India and was established in 2001 under the Societies Registration Act. The centre has a bed strength of 220 and caters to patients from seven districts of Northern Kerala, as well as neighboring states like Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, and Mahe. The total population served by the centre is over 1.5 crores.

The primary objective of the centre is to provide quality cancer care to patients in the region. MCC also aims to become a center of excellence in research and training in oncology. The centre is governed by a 23-member Governing Body, with the Hon’ble Chief Minister of Kerala as the Chairman.

MCC offers a range of services to patients, including diagnosis, treatment, and palliative care for various types of cancer. The centre has state-of-the-art facilities for radiation therapy, chemotherapy, surgery, and bone marrow transplantation. MCC also has a dedicated team of doctors, nurses, and other healthcare professionals who work tirelessly to ensure that patients receive the best possible care.

Job Title: Clinical Trial Coordinator

Job Type: Temporary

Project: Network of clinical trial units across the National Cancer Grid to promote multi-centric collaborative research in the field of drug and device funded by Biotechnology Industry Assistance council, Govt of India.

Qualification:

The candidate should have one of the following qualifications:

  • Pharm.D
  • M.Pharm
  • BDS
  • MPH
  • MSc (Biostatistics)
  • MSc Clinical Research
  • MSc Life Science
  • MSc Nursing
  • Postgraduate diploma in Clinical Research
  • BTech Biotechnology

Experience (Essential):

The candidate should have at least 1 year of experience in clinical trials or in a research project in a funded research project or Pharma sponsored or in industry-supported trials.

Job Description:

The Clinical Trial Coordinator will be responsible for coordinating and managing clinical trials under the project.

Maximum Age: The maximum age limit for the post is 35 years. Age will be calculated as on 1st January of the year, i.e., 01-01-2023.

Remuneration: The remuneration for the post is Rs.30,000/- per month.

Terms and Conditions:

  1. The tenure of the temporary posting shall be for a period of one year or until the completion of the project. Extension after each tenure shall be considered based on the performance of the candidate with sufficient break of service in between each tenure.
  2. The above-said post will be stationed at Malabar Cancer Centre, Thalassery. Since the post is purely temporary, the incumbents selected will have no claim for regular posts and benefits.
  3. Applications will be screened, and selected candidates will be called for an interview. Applications received after the due date will not be considered under any circumstances. Details regarding the interview date will be informed later. There may be a screening test if the number of candidates is more than 5 per post. The marks obtained in the screening test will not be used for selection except in the case of a tie in the interview.
  4. Any attempt to influence any official of MCC will be a straightforward reason for outright rejection of the application. Such candidates will be debarred for a period of 5 years from applying to any post in MCC.
  5. No TA/DA or any other allowance will be given to attend the interview or joining of post, and outstationed candidates should make their own arrangements for stay for the interview and joining of the post, if offered.
  6. Qualification and experience should be from a recognized University or Organization (Recognized by Central or State Government). For BSc Nursing/GNM, registration shall be under INC/KNMC/ITC, etc.
  7. The decision of the Director is final in all aspects of recruitment.
  8. Canvassing in any form will lead to automatic disqualification. Candidates are advised to desist from such unholy practices.
