Job Title: Medical & Scientific Writer

Job Description: As a Medical & Scientific Writer, your role will involve reviewing published reports and biomedical literature to identify case reports of adverse reactions and non-individual case reports. You will apply regulatory and internal guidance to determine if the articles meet the criteria for case reports. Your responsibilities will also include writing accurate and concise summaries that capture the key elements from these reports.

Consistent coding of medical history, drugs, and adverse event terms will be essential. You will evaluate serious adverse events to ensure accurate processing from source documents, with a focus on maintaining quality and adhering to timelines. Creating summary content in various formats (such as narrative summaries, structured database inputs, and electronic formats for regulatory filing) will be necessary to support the drug safety reporting and information requirements of pharmaceutical industry clients.

Collaboration and support in query resolution from peer team members are expected. Additionally, you will be responsible for fulfilling other delegated responsibilities assigned by the team lead or manager.

Technical/Functional Competencies:

  1. Possess a sound knowledge of regulatory guidelines related to the pharmacovigilance (PV) domain.
  2. Proficient in narrative writing.
  3. Familiarity with MeDRA coding.
  4. Strong understanding of pharmacological concepts.
  5. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  6. Ability to work well as a team player.

  • Experience: Minimum of 0.4 – 2 years in PV.
