Position: Analytical Scientist
Job Description
As an Analytical Scientist, you will be part of a cross-functional team in Synthetic Molecule Design and Development (SMDD) and Bioproduct Research and Development (BRD). Your work will involve contributing to project teams focused on both small and large molecules, supporting Lilly’s diverse portfolio. Key responsibilities include:
- Stability Evaluation: Conduct stability studies for active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs) and dosage forms, supporting clinical trials, pediatric products, and commercial products.
- Raw Material Testing: Assist in the evaluation, testing, and release of raw materials and excipients for development and manufacturing.
- Method Development: Develop and execute analytical methods for oral and parenteral products, with a solid understanding of compendial requirements for raw materials, drug substances, and drug products.
- Analytical Techniques: Utilize techniques such as HPLC, GC, LC-MS, qPCR, ELISA, X-ray diffraction, and more, to support method development, troubleshooting, and validation.
You’ll play a critical role in transferring methods to manufacturing sites and third-party labs, ensuring the highest quality standards in testing, evaluation, and data integrity.
Key Responsibilities
- Adhere to relevant policies, including cGMPs, compliance, safety, and environmental protocols.
- Collaborate and communicate effectively with cross-functional teams and management.
- Author regulatory documents, track change controls, and ensure data integrity.
- Support laboratory investigations, CAPA implementation, and readiness for internal/external audits.
- Utilize tools such as Power BI, Python, and database systems for data analysis and reporting.
Candidate Profile
- Education: MS with 1-5 years of experience or BS with 3-5 years of experience in pharmaceutical analytical development (API or DP).
- Experience: Expertise in working with antibodies, proteins, peptides, oligonucleotides, small molecules, and other synthetic molecules.
- Skills: Proficiency in analytical techniques such as HPLC, LC-MS, GC, CE-SDS, and bioassays, along with knowledge of regulatory requirements and documentation practices.
