About BRDC
The Bio-Resources Development Centre (BRDC) is a leading R&D institution dedicated to promoting sustainable green technologies among farming communities in Meghalaya. Our initiatives include training and capacity-building programs for farmers, value addition to herbal medicines, documentation of traditional knowledge, and conservation of indigenous orchids, horticultural, and agricultural crops through tissue culture techniques. We also focus on biofertilizer production, ensuring the availability of bio-inputs for agricultural and horticultural crops, and implementing a seed-saving initiative to support food security through indigenous seed conservation.
Position: Quality Manager
BRDC invites applications from qualified and experienced professionals for the post of Quality Manager in the Quality Control and Analytical Laboratory.
Qualifications Required
- Postgraduate degree in Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Microbiology, Food Technology, Food Science, Pharmacy, Chemistry, or related fields.
Experience Requirements
- Hands-on experience in quality and safety parameters for chemical, microbiological, and molecular testing in food matrices as per ISO/IEC 17025:2017.
- Proficiency in managing a Quality Management System (QMS) in compliance with ISO/IEC 17025:2017 standards.
- Strong knowledge of basic computer applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Experience will only be considered if accompanied by relevant certificates/documents.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement Quality Manuals, Quality System Procedures, and Quality Formats as per ISO/IEC 17025:2017 standards.
- Maintain and oversee the Quality Assurance System for the laboratory.
- Conduct Internal Audits and organize Management Review Meetings while coordinating with NABL authorities.
- Address customer feedback, including complaint resolution.
- Identify and document non-conforming products.
- Organize Inter/Intra-Laboratory Comparison and Proficiency Testing.
- Develop and maintain Standard Testing Procedures (STPs) and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Ensure regulatory compliance by maintaining quality and technical documentation.
- Manage procurement, inspection, and storage of Certified Reference Materials (CRMs) and consumables.
- Identify training needs, train technical staff and new recruits, and maintain training records.
Salary
- Negotiable, based on experience and qualifications.

- The decision of BRDC management shall be final and binding.
- This is a contractual position, subject to extension based on performance evaluation.
