Pay Scale and Benefits

  • Pay Level: Level-7 (₹44,900 – ₹1,42,400) as per CCS (RP) Rules, 2016

  • Initial Emoluments: ₹44,900 + DA (excluding T.A. & HRA)

  • Probation Period: 2 years


Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualification

Master’s degree in any of the following disciplines:

  • Chemistry

  • Biochemistry

  • Pharmacology

  • Pharmacy

  • Forensic Science (with Chemistry as a subject in all 3 years of B.Sc.)
    OR
    Associateship diploma of the Institution of Chemist by examination.*

*Applicable only for departmental scientists on the date of notification of the amended recruitment rules.

Experience

Minimum 3 years of experience in research/analytical work in toxicology within:

  • Central or State Government organizations

  • Recognized institutes or universities

  • Forensic science laboratories

Desirable: Prior work experience in forensic science laboratories.


Age Limit

  • General: Not exceeding 30 years

  • PwBD: Up to 40 years

  • Govt. Employees: Relaxation up to 5 years (as per rules)

  • Others: As per UPSC norms (refer detailed advertisement)


Job Responsibilities

  • Examination of crime case samples

  • Court evidence presentations

  • Crime scene investigations

  • Supervising junior scientific staff

  • Conducting R&D in forensic toxicology

  • Training law enforcement and forensic trainees


Job Location

Headquarters in New Delhi with postings at CFSLs in:
Chandigarh, Kolkata, Hyderabad, Kamrup (Assam), Pune & Bhopal

Posting may involve transfers across India.
