The Tamil Nadu Veterinary and Animal Sciences University, commonly referred to by its acronym TANUVAS, was officially established on September 20, 1989. It holds the distinction of being the first Veterinary University in India, established under the Tamil Nadu State Government Act 42 of 1989.
The roots of TANUVAS can be traced back to as early as 1876 when the Madras Veterinary College was founded as an Agricultural School in Chennai. Its primary objective was to provide diploma and certificate courses in the field of veterinary and animal sciences. Over the years, this institution laid the foundation for the development and growth of TANUVAS, which has since become a prominent university dedicated to veterinary and animal sciences.

Walk-in Interview for Temporary Pharmacist Position at Madras Veterinary College Hospital
A walk-in interview is scheduled to select a Pharmacist (D. Pharm.) for a temporary position within the Self Financing scheme, specifically for the “Establishment of Retail Pharmacy for the Supply of Veterinary Health Care Products and Supplements” at the Madras Veterinary College Hospital, Chennai. The pharmacy operates within the Directorate of Clinics, Madras Veterinary College Campus, Chennai – 600 007, and this position is temporary, in alignment with the scheme’s duration.

- Remuneration: Consolidated Pay of Rs. 20,000/- per month

Interview Information:
- Interested candidates should bring a filled-in application in the prescribed format, as well as relevant original certificates, to the Directorate of Clinics, TANUVAS, Madras Veterinary College Campus, Vepery, Chennai – 600 007 on the day of the walk-in interview, which is on November 22, 2023, at 11:00 A.M.
- Please note that no TA/DA will be provided for candidates attending the interview. Candidates are advised to make their own arrangements for their stay during the interview.
- Submitting an application to attend the interview does not guarantee an appointment. Selection will be based purely on merit. Candidates must be prepared to produce all original certificates, including their diploma certificate, proof of age, experience, and other testimonials that establish their competency for the position at the time of the interview.
