Job Description
- Support Development: Assist in the advancement of advanced peptide synthesis methods and equipment.
- Synthesis and Characterization: Synthesize and characterize target peptides and perform purification.
- Manual Solid Phase Synthesis: Conduct medium to commercial-scale synthesis (1 to 10 grams, 100 grams, and 1 kilogram of final product) with minimal supervision.
- Analytical Techniques: Characterize and identify compounds using modern analytical methods.
- Instrument Maintenance: Maintain equipment such as rotary evaporators, MPLC, pH meters, lyophilizers, peptide synthesizers, centrifuges, etc., and adhere to SHE/regulatory guidelines.
- Problem Solving: Troubleshoot both practical and theoretical synthetic issues at the highest level.
- Literature and MSDS: Conduct literature searches and collect Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS).
- Documentation: Maintain documents including patents, literature, and analytical reports.
- Productivity: Ensure individual productivity by tracking the number of reactions, purifications, and shipments.
Key Requirements
- Peptide Expertise: Capable of characterizing, synthesizing, and purifying peptides and troubleshooting issues.
- Team Leadership: Able to manage a team of 2-3 people.
- Communication Skills: Fluent in verbal and written English.
Candidate Profile
- Education: M.Sc/M.Pharma (Organic Chemistry).
- Experience: Minimum 4 years in peptide chemistry within the CRO industry.
- Safety Adherence: Follow safe practices and procedures, contribute to safety protocol development, and promote an EHS mindset.
- Training: Complete mandatory training related to data integrity, health, and safety.
- Attention to Detail: Exhibit good manual dexterity and careful attention to detail.
- Interpersonal Skills: Interact effectively with other departments and work collaboratively.
- Organizational Skills: Prioritize and organize work responsibilities to meet deadlines.
- Integrity: Maintain confidentiality and possess a high level of integrity.
- Mindset: Demonstrate a proactive, entrepreneurial mindset.
- Communication: Strong oral and written communication skills in English.
